Ok I can confirm this small yaw drift to the right and time to time a noise in the yaw command. Sound like you said a roundoff problem

But no more "noise" when rudder is set to neutral ?
The drift should be fixed with trims as protocol trims are set to neutral.
If that's not enough I'll add a small deadband, but I think that should not be required at the protocol level.

I'll also wait for petsmith and *the guy I can't type the username* reports, I think this should at least fix their "yaw jumps" issue.

geobish, thanks for the hard work. I've just tested your 7e test built. Unfortunately, the problem still persisted. The hex wouldn't stop spinning and trimming didn't help.

Thanks for reporting.
Can you try to set rudder channel to a fixed value of 0 and check if the problem remains ? (obviously you won't be able to control yaw ;))

Tested with rudder channel fixed to 0, no more yawing left & right. It finally able to hold its headings.

Then, I made another test with Expo 100 and it also worked, no more yaw drifting. Changed the Expo back to 45, yaw drifting again.

Ok, I'll add a deadband at the protocol level then.

Tested the 7e bulld. It worked perfectly. The hex can now hold its headings and flies very stable. Thank you very much for your excellent work! ;)

I need to capture the associated SPI data

Do you have the data ? or maybe they're already in another thread... too much protocols :p

For this one I can't remember, but I recently captured data for the JJRC H20W (different from the H20C), for the JJRC H29G and the Fayee 805

Spare motor finally arrived... I can confirm this build fixes the heading-/yaw-problem (awesome!), but please note that some Expo for rudder is needed. Not a problem for me, but when I started testing with a simple 1-to-1 curve, the problem came (randomly) back after using rudder. It sometimes stopped when using the rudder again. Now I'm using some Expo and the problem is gone :) With Expo 25 it was still a bit glitchy, but Expo 35 seems to be already enough for a stable flight. Thanks a lot for having another great flyer. Also, thanks to petsmith for doing the tests!

and I thought that the yaw jitter was due to me 'landing' it in water some time ago :-D Thank you!

I realised that my H20 has a red PCB while the pictures in SeByDocky's review thread are showing a green PCB. I hope that the changes in the test build which fixes the yaw problem for me and others don't break compatibility with green PCB.

If it's using the same protocol that shouldn't change anything, I only added a small deadband on rudder channel.

... I should increase it a bit as it looks like a bit of expo is still required to thoroughly fix the issue.
