Yes I think they're similar.
I'll probably work on that later but I really want to finish AFHDS-2A protocol first

It's working fine, just that it's missing complete telemetry because of my laziness

Hello,
Testet the 7e Build on my old Version of Spyhawk (the Version with out Gps)
The Switch on Channel 6 works good !
Only little down Side is at the Binding , here i have every Power Cycle to do a new Bind.
The old Version of the Spyhawk does the same automatic Bind like the h107 Quads.
Can we make an Autobind Tab at the Bind menue ?
The h107 Menu works with out any Problem , but here is the Channel 6 and may be the other Switch Channels not working.
Greetings Alex and big thanks for the new Hubsan Option

Another nudge...
Hoping that we can make some progress on either GPS or RSSI outputs for the SpyHawk.

Hello,
I was wondering if you were ever able to get an answer to your question or if perhaps you were otherwise able to determine compatibility with the H502S.
Cheers.

Any chance the H502E will be added to the list? Considering picking one up just to have something i can toss a batt in for that quick flight now and then...Plus i like the idea of having a small quad with GPS capabilities..

ajtank has ordered one, he'll check if the H502S is compatible with the H501 protocol.

Great...I was thinking of getting the 502s but the 502e is the same quad only much cheaper and i seen a video where the FPV tx/camera can be added to the E for less the $30.00 making it the exact same as the 502s model...
Thanks..
Thanks..

Control is one thing, having GPS and other information is another... Hubsan's have great, full range telemetry, but deviation doesn't yet support it. If there are enough of us, perhaps Goebish will be able to help??

My H502S finally arrived. It has been routed via Singapore then to Hong Kong. Unlike GB, BG does not offer direct shipment to HK and that triples the shipping time on average.
Well it does not bind with the existing H501 protocol.
A question from a newbie:
It took me a minute to realize that the screws for the props are of two types: CW and CCW. The threads of the screws are coated by vibra-tite. If I torque the screws down to the bottom the props will get stuck and are unable to spin. So I have to loosen the screws by a few turns. When I disarm the quad the 4 props seem to have unbalanced inertia and stop at different time whilst my other toy grade models stop more or less in the same instant.
Is this normal? I dare not take it out for a flight before I figure this out.

It happened that the gear shaft had not been flushed to the bottom which in turn limited the travel of the shaft. Once fixed the props can then spin normally. So even the appearance of the Hubsan looks exceptionally nice compared to other brands, the quality control in the factory is of no substantial difference

@Goebish
Here are the captures for H502S. Please take a look, thanks.
All the captures are done indoors (quad preset to altitude hold mode).
GPS and RTH are flip switches. Original position is OFF.
Altitude hold can be disabled by entering the option menu. It seems there is no SPI activity during the period when the menu is being accessed.
Arm and disarm are done by left and right sticks down and outward. However I have to first enable "Fly when no GPS' by entering the option menu. Again there is no SPI activitiy when accessing the menu.
The operation is new to me. Let me know if there is anything unclear.

Thanks guys! My 501s + 7e works flawlessly. Its easy to set gps hold and rth on same 3way switch
if we had more telemetry info that would be great! I never know if i have enough sat when arming, but waiting 2min is probably enough
edit:
Do you guys know what range i can squeez out of 3in1multimod? Stock hubsan tx is getting almost 2km, what about multimod +5dbi antenna+ reflector.

Good Evening Peoples.
Firstly, first post on this forum, and wow! what a lot of work you guys have put in. Impressed Much!
I also have a Hubsan H502S Desire, which i have tryed with the the hubsan4 proto
H107 = No Bind
H301 = Bind OK (maybe a bit slow, but as a noob, i dont know)
Ch5=Leds ok
Ch8 Video? Back(red) leds alternating flash
Telemetry V1 ok
VideoFreq Select OK
Armed ok with both sticks down and out
Throttled up ok
H501 = No Bind
It is too windy to fly here at the moment. to test it fully but hey i think it would fly!!!
Cheers a lot for the work.
and good luck on the telemetry (goebish you star!)
Edit: one thing i did notice, is the 502 only revs when throttle is above mid point, i guess that’s the altitude hold mode?

Just wondering...
I am sorry if these are stupid questions,
Q1- Are all these channels implemented in the H301 protocol?
i have a devo7e with extra 3 way switch's, running devo7e-v5.0.0-b3cda66
and have setup my devo with:
Hold0 = LEDs off = CH5 -100
Hold1 = LED on = CH5 100
SWA0 = ALT mode = CH6
SWA1 = GPS mode = CH11
SWA2 = RTH = CH10
SWB0 = Picture = CH8
SWB1 = n/a
SWB2 = Video = CH7
FMode0 = Headless off
FMode1 = Headless on = CH9
I just wanted to check before i risk flying (really don't want to lose it).
The other point was, in the tx settings there is a manual mode, i have not tryed it yet myself (still in training) but i have heard others trying it out and they said its ok apart from the sprung throttle, if you let go of the stick the quad goes flying ( self centers ).. interestingly this sounds perfect for the devo tx.
If i set up ALT mode, GPS mode and RTH on different switch's so i could turn them all to -100..
Q2 would this be.. manual mode?
Edit: forgot to add... this maybe a different setting?? due to the throttle change "let go of the stick the quad goes flying".
I will have to test this, once the wind dies down and i can fly.
Anyway thanks to anyone that can shed light on these.

All righty then... after my holidays further testing of the H502S using the 301 protocol:
Led switch on ch5 seems to work, but sometimes when switched off (possibly at startup) will not turn on again.
Could not get GPS hold to work at all
Throttle around mid mark stabilized the altitude, not as well as the standard tx but thats most likely down to the self centering stick vs my wobbly hand.
only liifts of when throttle stick is above mid so alt mode seems to be on as standard.
no return to home on Ch10
Video seems to work but did not seem to want to take a picture.
one thing that did puzzle me was AIL control seemed to give me a 45 degree slope Left but only a 25 degree slope Right? i checked the channel output and all was fine -100 to 100. maybe something wrong with the quad?
