I know it's tame, especially with stock motors & batteries + the extra weight of the micro fpv pod, but I'm waiting for beefier motors and batteries, should be fine for my small apartment
Also, it has an agility (rate) mode, though it's not stated in the manual (probably because it can't be done with the RTF transmitter) , just toggle channel 6 high / low to switch between "safe" and agility modes

At least this has not bricked the RX, so that should be fine to upgrade them for usage with Deviation

should be a great fpv platform once modded! I never knew about the rate mode, I followed the threads when it was first released as i liked the idea of no exposed props for indoor obstacle avoiding fpv, but as the early adopters reported it's docile nature and no rate mode I quickly lost interest, seems like I should have stuck around lol. I'll keep an eye for your findings once modded and it may move back onto my want to own list

Thanks Goebish for your great tutorial, I have finished my iA6B FW update, there is nothing has been changed on stock TX,
but now I can get RSSI on my U7E telemetry page.
Is -60db correct ?? I put RX next to U7E.
BTW, I didn't do this step "optional: open it in an hex editor then change the 4 bytes at offset 0x1C00 (12 34 56 78) to change RX ID, I think you can use any arbitrary values, just avoid using FF FF FF FF" because I don't have any HEX editor on hand, is it OK?

The i6 transmitter doesn't display the new sensor, because its ID is unknown to it, you updated the RX, not the TX
That's not a big deal if you don't change RX ID, no worries.

edit: I just checked and there are already 8 working channels in the PPM stream, just as with the iA10, good enough
Having more channels in the PPM stream is not a good idea as that would increase latency.

Not sure if the firmware is using a fixed frame length or a fixed frame spacing.
From putting together the iBus2PPM code I know that there are compatibility issues when optimizing CPPM output. In theory, an interframe spacing of 3000 us should be fine, and the dynamic frame size. Works nice with BaseFlight/CleanFlightm but not APM. Will cut avg frame size down from 22500 us = 22.5ms to 1500*8 + 3000 = 15ms. Actually even lower if you plan to have high channels in the low range most of the flying time. Say most common flightmode first. But iBus2PPM is for this stuff.
8 channels over PPM is already a large step forward, and will fulfill most of my needs. And for extra channels for headtracking, I will use iBus2PPM, and get the pan/tilt output on channel 5+6 and use iBus2PPM to switch 9+10 in their place in PPM.
Now I just need my new BG CC2500 NRF24L01 A7105 Multi RF 3 IN 1 - which just shipped - has a tracking number, but it is still listed as "preorder".
