protocol for JJRC H31? was created by Schamane
Hello,
I would Just like to know if there is a protocol for the the JJRC H31. I didn't find it in the supported models list, although i thought that this was quite a popular model. Or maybe there were attempts to deviate it that failed for some reason.
Does anyone have any further information on the subject?
Thanks in advance

Hi Schamane completely understand where you are coming from with this one well at least I think I do. Fantastic quad for the money highly manoeuvrable but that crazy yaw spin in high rates :( I have a Devo 7E with 3 in 1 module and checked every protocol over the Christmas period in an effort to hopefully succeed with a manual bind, no joy unfortunately so for the time being looks like its a no go. I have some time on my hands at present so I may have another bash as some of the protocols can be tweaked manually and I recently had some success with another quad so watch this space.:)

why doesn't one of you make some captures of the protocol for one of the devs to look at and help get it into deviation? seby has a great howto video showing the process for making captures if you don't know how

and a protocol analyzer can be bought for £5/$6 with free shipping from ebay >> www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271716215743

unless one of the devs decides to buy an h31 for themself it will take someone doing the captures, or sending an h31 transmitter to a willing dev to get the protocol hacked and into deviation :)

Thank you for your replies,
it is a great quad i think, maybe i just grew attached to it because i was modding it a bit and surprisingly was succesful with it:)
i was already planning on doing a capture, the analyzer is on my desk already but time is short at the moment. just thought maybe someone else already attempted to deviate it. all i can say from my atenna mods is that it uses tje nrf module.
anyway it is a pleasure to hear from you guys. thanks for that.

Fact: each new JJRC machine is using a new protocol, please provide some SPI dumps ;)

Doesn't look good.
Which chip is it ?
Also, start to capture before switching the transmitter on.

The chip is NST LT8910 www.nst-ic.com/f/1/1311114648.pdf
With doesn't look good you mean there is something wrong with the capture or that it can't be deviated?
I used a trigger on the clock to start the capture, so i guess the capture started with the transmitter.

The capture is weird, but perhaps that's because there are several devices on the SPI bus.
Anyway, if it's using a LT8910 it can't be deviated for now.

That's a real shame. It would seem JJRC are definitely not deviation friendly peeps!

Just checked the quad, theres a lt5910 chip on board. But seems to be the same as the lt8910 in a different package. At least now i know why it is not deviated yet. Thank you.

The LT5910 has MCU+RF in the same package, while the LT8910 is a RF chip only.

Too Bad, I Just received a H31 anderen was looking vor the deviation protocol ....
Copter is good, transmitter OK for the price.
I have got an unused cheap logic analyser, I can try to capture data if needed.
But whith LT8910 .....

Guys, the JJR/C H31 is a REALLY nice flyer, especially for the money. Bought mine for $25, has a lot of power, is fast and responsive, yet smooth and controllable. The stock Tx actually isn't bad at all, but 1) I don't want to lug around more than just my Deviated Devo10, and 2) I know the H31 will fly so much the better yet with my Devo10.

So how can we get it connected? What's the process? Can I contribute (I'm willing, I'm interested, but I have no idea where to start)!

Did someone already check JJRC H31 with protocol analyzer.? I need to bind it with iRangeX IRX4 4 in 1 Tx Module. I have also the newest OpenTX firmware on Turnigy 9XR so I can choose which protocol I need.

It's using a LT8910 RF IC, it can't be emulated with the nrf24l01, except if we're lucky and this protocol uses 1Mbps bitrate and NRZ encoding maybe, but Schamane has removed his dump from Dropbox, so I can't check that anymore.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that, as I said, if it's using 1Mbps or 250kbps bitrate, NRZ line coding and no FEC (we would be lucky!) then maybe it can be emulated.

I had a quick look but your captures are missing essential init informations, you should start to capture before switching the transmitter on.
