XK A110 3 channel plane was created by wasp09
Bought this plane in November:

www.ebay.ca/itm/XK-A110-2-4G-3CH-DIY-Rem...045573.c100505.m3226

It arrived at new year eve. I've haven't been able to bid with it using existing settings for XK heli's.

This plane has a servo on elev and motors on both sides of wings. The stock TX has 3 channels on sticks + 2 buttons on top (1 unknown, 1 for rate).

It has a control board marked KN inside the TX.

Is it possibble to get it deviation'ed?

Thanks.

Looks like it's using a PANxxxx MCU with built-in XN297L transceiver, it should be possible to deviate it, but only with SDR, not with a logic analyzer ...

Can you try to bind with GD00X protocol ?
(available in latest nightly build)

Haven't updated my devo's for quite awhile. I'll try the new protocols and report back. I only have an analyzer.

Thanks for the response.

Uploaded deviation-devo10-v5.0.0-9d0c370.dfu (built from git) onto my devo10. Unfortunately could not bind with XK A110 using GD00X protocol. Plane did not respond.

BTW, shouldn't the smaller chip be an RF chip since the antenna is attached there?

No, that's a PA/LNA.

Good to know that it is a PA. That helps to keep the plane in flight.

Since it has a marking of "KN" printed on, did you try the KN protocol in WLToys or Feilun Format?

KN protocols are using a nrf24l01, but the PAN163CX MCU in this TX has a XN297L transceiver, therefore that's a different protocol.

Didn't check your protocol in detail, I just remembered that the xn297 is somewhat nrf24l01 compatible and GD00X also uses the nrf24l01. OTA-Attack seems the most reasonable nonetheless to get some clue about channels used and timings.

Based on your hint, I tried the protocol one by one.

Guess what, the default V911S setting kind of get it to respond. Cyclics seem OK. Throttle is not too stable though.

Let me take a look of the options in the V911S code and play with the settings.

The stock TX has switches on both top buttons but the manual only talk about the right one is the rate. Hope the protocl also give us a hint.

Thanks.

The instabliity is TX power related. It binds at 300uW. Connection may drop if we get too close on higher power setting indoors. Not sure if it is just the RX LNA gets saturated or if it is higher error rate due to some protocol imperfectness. Anyway it is good enough for now.

BTW, what is V911S? I still have the original V911.

V911S is a recent protocol, it's for the "stabilized" (6G) version of the WLToys V911.
https://www.banggood.com/WLtoys-V911S-2_4G-4CH-6-Aixs-Gyro-Flybarless-RC-Helicopter-RTF-p-1318778.html

Rate is automatically set to maximum, channel 5 is used to start accelerometer calibration on the V911S, I don't know if it's used on the A110.

This protocol is known to be problematic because it's using xn297L emulation @250kbps, it requires an accurate crystal oscillator for the nrf24l01 and it doesn't work (or not very well...) with every modules, this is an hardware issue, there's nothing we can do about it in the firmware:
www.deviationtx.com/forum/protocol-devel...911-s?start=20#71646
That's not a power saturation issue, but frequency drift, we transmit on 24xx MHz, but the XN297L listens to 24xx.2 MHz, depending of the crystal oscillator (in)accuracy on both sides, it might work ... or not ... This is only an issue @250kbps, no problem with xn297@1Mbps protocols.

The EAchine E010 is using xn297l@250kbps as well, and many people have the same issue.

Are you using a X-in-1 module or a separate nrf24l01 module ?
Recent 4-in-1 modules and separate nrf24l01+pa/lna modules seems to work better (no guaranty tho!).

I should add a note about those XN297L@250kbps protocols (i6S, E010, Q303, V911s, GD00X) in the documentation, but I'm not sure how to write (word) it ...

Anyway, I'm adding the XK A110 to the compatibility list

I have individual modules on both my Devo 7E and 10.

Devo 10 has all 3 modules. 7E does not have the CC2500. It has the devo 8 Walkera module instead. The original 7E RF module went dead a while after doing the range mod. I actually have an extra CC2500. However I broke some connections every time I opened up the 7E. It is too tight to add yet another module.

The lower the TX power, the easier to get it bound on both my 7E and 10.

Playing with channel 5 would get the LED on the A110 to flash. How do we do calibration on V911S?

I do not have a V911S but I suppose you've to put it on level surface, set CH5 to 100 then wait a few seconds until the leds flash or stop flashing.

Looks like then that it will be the same protocol for these 2 planes: www.banggood.com/search/xk-a100.html

@Wasp09 I see on the internal pictures that compared to the V911S remote control the XK A1x0 has a seperated board with the SPI bus exposed. Might be worse dumping it to see if there is a small variation with V911S that I've only amalyzed via SDR...

SPI bus is not exposed, that's a PAN163CX + PA/LNA

Are you sure ?
According to pictures on banggood, the A100 and A110 are using the same Tx (V911S compatible).

The XK K100 uses S-FHSS

Sorry, it's for XK K100

Found next message:

"In conclusion, the new protocol of WLToys and XK are the same, V911S and A110 can bind to each other"

結論から言えば、WLToysとXKの新プロトコルは同じで、V911Sと A110は相互にバインド可能です。PAN163CXというRF統合1チップマイコンが同じなんですが、どうやらコードも同じようでw
