Start with low rate (should be the default), then mid, then high, then stop capture.

OK, but to clarify, when you say "rate" you mean the motor speed, right? On this controller, that's pressing in on the right stick.
I'll get this to you soon as I can today.

That's it, it's usually called "beginner", "intermediate" and "expert" modes in the manual, only the fastest mode is implemented in Deviation.

Welp, looks like I just broke the quad, now it won't connect to either the T8SG or its original controller. I'll try to revive it as best I can.

I got it, capture starts bound already, at low rate, then mid, then high, and back to low.

Seems there's no CLK in this capture.
(but a "ghost" of the Data channel instead)

I reran the capture, channel 0 and 1 still seems a bit close but definitely different.
Here's the reran capture: mega.nz/#!qVxn3QbC!BkN0ZkAXp-hKIYp_0r3s2hGi8yT2pUQWc0LflSvZd50

Hold on, I'm now able to use the cc2500 instead of the nrf24l01 for xn297@250kbps, I believe that should fix this issue, I'll give you a test build soon.

Joms wrote: Wow, it's finally started to work! It would only bind when TX power is set to 1mW only, and would not connect in any other power. It would not maintain a stable bind as well, and when armed, the motors would spin and turn off when connection is lost and automatically spin when connection comes back. Arm on channel 5 definitely working now!

Please try this build:
www.dropbox.com/sh/7k5f9f62ifucnd7/AACN4...pU_AMWWIKzdXOTa?dl=0
It has an E010 protocol with E010 and Phoenix sub-formats.

Yay! My E010 that was gathering dust seems to be working well. More testing after battery charging.
Very nice work goebish

It connects flawlessly no matter what power setting I choose now, arming works as well. Just need to calibrate controls and throttle--which apparently idles at maybe 25% power on arm, and moving throttle past mid sets it to 100% power. I'll check with the mixer if it tames it.
Thanks for this build!

Nice, seems the XN297L emulation with CC2500 is working 100% according to the reports !
Phoenix protocol is supposed to work properly with default settings (new model).
If you're sure your sticks are calibrated properly then maybe this quad has different throttle scaling than E010, I'd need a capture in which you set throttle from low to high position to check that.
If it has altitude hold I suppose it has a spring centered throttle stick ?
