Download the original fw again from somewhere, for example from here:
drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B3y72n5Y...jTkZvTFpPU1MxTDRGTnc
Unzip it, and UPGRADE the fw with the DfuSe tool just as you did with deviation, then UPGRADE the library found in the zip file too using the "Library" tab of the DfuSe...

hey found the 0.8 version here.
walkera-fans.de/downloads/
and downloaded it and my devo 10 is now fully restored as it was with those models and settings that I had, but you should use the A or B version

This is from the .txt file within the zip:
DEVO-10 Fw v0.8A.dfu, 100mW Sendeleistung, USA Version
DEVO-10 Fw v0.8B.dfu, 10mW Sendeleistung, EU Version
The difference is the max signal output. If you have legal restrictions in your country, use version B otherwise version A.

Ver 0.8A came with my DEVO 10 from Gearbest so looks like they are shipping out with the "latest" version so no need to update the stock firmware... but when I went to Walkera's website to see what the latest version is the DEVO 10 and 7E was not even listed as a past product. What's up with that? Did Walkera stop making the DEVO 10 and 7E?

one may wonder if Walkera's website, they had really a lot of files and information about devo. installed the first version A on my devo 10 then I could just set up to +10 dBm of Power Amplifier, tested late version B and can now set +20 dBm, which I had from the beginning, but if I use higher dBm strength, I can then get longer control range?

+10 dBm = 10 mW
+20 dBm = 100 mW
You may be mixed-up about the different versions:
v0.8A is the 100 mW version (+20 dBm)
v0.8B is the 10 mW version (+10 dBm)
So, yes, much farther range when using v0.8A firmware. But, be aware that you could possibly get into some trouble if you are caught using it in a countries that limit transmitter output power to 10 mW.

You are good-to-go with 100mW on your DEVO in Sweden, as per
www.fai.org/ciam-our-sport/frequencies

....snip....
2,4 GHz Band
2,4000 – 2,4835 GHz
