Upgrade DEVO 8 problem i need help! was created by Mr-Ferret
Hi, I have to apologize first for my bad English!
I'm from Germany and have a problem with my DEVO 8 and English too.
Until yesterday, I had the version 2.1.0 on run, then I tried to update the version 2.1.1. But after the update, did that off no longer.
I have the battery (such as in the FAQ to read) changed and tried again.
The same result. Then I installed the original firmware again and everything is back in order.
I then tried to install the version 2.1.0, then again I had the same result, the DEVO will no longer turn off. The LCD is dark, the red LED lights up and you must remove the battery to turn off.
The only thing still work if I put in the battery again, then EXT press and turn on again to get the upgrade mode and I can play again a firmware.
As I said, original firmware works, open source no longer works.
Can someone help me?
Thank you very much!
Greeting
Manfred

Is your filesystem correct?
Can you switch it on in USB mode (holding the ENT button at startup), and do you see the directories and files?

Unfortunately no, it is not possible to open the filesystem.
It does nothing more, except the upgrade menu. (holding the EXT button on startup)

But is the USB sign shown or not?
Is a new USB drive is available, which should be formatted then?

Maybe a silly question (when you have read the FAQ you will have done so with the manual): you selected the "upgrade" button in the dfuse-tool (not "upload")? With upload you destroy your dfu-file. In this case download it again from the forum and give it a new try.
It seems as if the dfu-file does not work for your tx. This can happen when
- you selected upload (see above)
- you try to install a version for another tx (6,10,7e)
- the dfu-file is internally corrupt
- the transport of data via USB is somehow disturbed
If you can exclude all of this, PB will be your tx's livesaver...

i check all points again if i am at home, at the moment i am in the office.
sorry for the lag, i write the result today evening.
I think it was due to my stupidity. it can be, i klick on upload, but i am not shure.
on the other hand, back I made to the original firmware really well.
I'm not sure at the moment I am trying it again.
I hope nobody is upset because I'm too stupid.
thanks!

Using 'Upload' is the most likely cause of this issue. It corrupts the specified dfu on your PC such that when you do install it, you get exactly the behavior you describe. Generally a black screen and no power-off means a corrupted dfu. I have no idea why Walkera didn't disable that feature for installing the firmware.
Also double check that you have the right firmware for your radio.
