Trainer Port on Devo 8 - in DSM mode was created by clearprop88
This may have been addressed before, but I couldn't find the post.
Can I hard wire between the trainer ports on a Spectrum DX8, and my Devo 8 (in DSM protocol), and have them function as Master, and slave for training?

So far deviation only supports PPM out, and you have to change the protocol to achieve it, but at least you can make the PPM signal and the channel order to be appropriate for the DX8.

Let me see if I understand.
If I use my model config for my Blade 300X, and then change to PPM instead of DSM then it will work in trainer mode.
Is this correct?

I did not try this by myself, but deViation can only work as master at the moment.

OK, thanks. I guess I'll just stay away from it for now, and stay with Spectrum TX's.

There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

No. Devo is the skave. Just send ppm out the trainer port just like you would to a simulator. All that you send is the stick data the dx8 does thw rest

That's just what I wanted, to use my Devo as the slave.
Thanks Hexperience.
I'll give it a try during the week, and report how it goes.

Obviously test it first, I've never tried trainer mode on a 6 channel heli, so you need to make sure that pitch and throttle are correctly mapped. If you are just doing a 4 channel plane its pretty straight forward.

That's exactly what we'll do. 4 Ch plane first then heli.

For sure. The master is the one who controls the ppm input. Sorry for the mixup.Hexperience wrote: No. Devo is the skave.
