Gyro Programming for miniCP on Devo 8S was created by Gerhard_H
Hi !

I'm sorry, this seems to be no problem for all of you but I am unable to get the gyro working for my miniCP, my very first attempt to program a heli by myself. Though I could make the heli run properly I don't know how to make the settings for the gyo, which should be activated by the MIX-switch.
I had found here a message which says (marc from 13. Oct 2012):

Walkera minicp: beginner settings
This beginner configuration is based on the 8k-template in the deviation user manual and on the beginner configuration by TomZ at rcgroups.
- FMode 0: Throttle max. 80, pitch curve -11 to 78, indoors or no wind.
- FMode 1: Throttle max. 86, pitch curve -35 to 87, outdoors
- (FMode 3: Throttle V-curve 81-13-81, linear pitch curve -100 to 100)
- Gyro sensitivity on Mix Switch: 63-57-47.
- Throttle hold: see mixer on ch 3.
Convenient icon must be in directory /modelico.

OK, what "user manual" ? Haven't found any template there (Deviation Firmware User Manual Version 1.0, downloaded from here)

Gyro sensitivity on Mix Switch . . . Yes, what else ! But how can I do this ?
The manual doesn't mention the word "gyro" not one time.

Sorry, simply downloading a proper ini-file isn't really a help for me.

How can I obtain access to the mix-switch ? Where is the gyro-issue to find in the radio menu ?

I am totally frustrated and desperate.
I hope someone can give some advice.

tia

Hi !

Got it. :woohoo:

Just had to find out the proper channel for the gyro (checked the miniCP manual) and to go to the mixer menu.

My excitement had been for nothing . . .

You mentioned a version 1 manual?. Try the latest, still draft, but it might help - it is under the topic of Documentation

Gerhard_H,

Before you attempt any programming you must know the channel order. Here what you'll find for Devo:

1. ELE
2. AIL
3. THR
4. RUD
5. GEAR
6. PITCH (AUX1)
7. GYRO (AUX2)
8. AUX3

Keep in mind this order isn't fixed for all (all-in-one) receivers/models and sometimes you have to check the specific documentation.

Also, different protocols use different channel order, like TAERG (throttle, aileron, elevator, rudder, gear), TEARG. Channels above 6 are AUX channels and their purpose is usually vendor/model dependent.

I feel we should have a sticky on this subject, it would clear a lot of things for beginners. I'll write something up this weekend and post it.

Devo 10 + 4in1
Spektrum Dx9
FrSky Taranis + TBS Crossfire

@sbstnp

Yes, that's exactly one of the biggest problems, channel order mostly is unknown and not so easy to figure out.

@RandMental

Sorry, but I couldn't find any manual under "topic of Documentation"
