Model transfers to V3 Model folder

"copy all directories EXCEPT for the ‘models’ directory and the
tx.ini file to the transmitter. Optionally, copy the ‘models’ directory to the transmitter except for the currently configured model files."
Does this mean that I should copy the new V3 Model folder from the FS zip file into my Devo 8S, and then carefully copy in my Model .ini files into the new Model folder, or does it mean that I have to re-configure all my existing Model files?
I guess what I'm really asking is;
Can I Use my old Model folder, and copy it into the new V3 File system Model folder.
Another question;
Is there a difference in the unused Model files used in V2.0 compared to V3.0 or are they the same?

That clears it up for me.
Also, are the templates different in V3 compared to earlier releases?

The best way to update filesystem - delete all, copy new, restore your model ini files and tx.ini.

I don't understand why, it should work with older ones but I had some quirks when I used an old tx.ini.

Just load everything in new, and then make changes from there, adding in old models, templates, skins, etc.
I will also review my model config files just to be sure that all the switches do what I expect them to do.

I like the Advanced mode, so all my config. files were developed using that mode, but I would like to experiment using the icons in basic mode.

The icons are independent, they were just shown on the screen.
The model config files are compatible, only the toggle icon references changed.
The only thing you should do when copying your models to the new folder: do not overwrite the default.ini and unused model files because they can contain changes to the old defaults.
