TRIM_L & TRIM_R on Devo 10? was created by mwm
Now that I finally got the Devo 10, I started fooling with the extra trim switches to see what I could do with them.

First thing - just attach them to AUX4 and AUX5. Set them up identical to the setups for four stick trims, with Trim- to TRIM_L- and Trim+ to TRIM_L+ for AUX4.

Seems like they're backwards: pushing the left trim up towards the '+' symbol lowers the output of AUX4, and pushing it down towards the '-' raises it. It's easy to fix, but...

Am I just confused?

Maybe this is a bug?

Could my Tx be wired backwards (both of them do that, so it doesn't seem likely)?

Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.

Hi,
Why did you attach AUX to TRIM ? On the Devo10 there are already buttons for that (they are just in the middle-top of the TX)...

mwm is just saying that the trim 5 and 6 seem to be hooked up backwards. you need to associate them with some channel in order to test them. I don't have my devo10 in front of me to check it. If someone can confirm, I'll fix it, otherwise you'll need to wait till I dig it out.

Please file a ticket on bitbucket so I don't forget about this.

As PBR said, they have to be attached to something. They weren't attached to those channels by default, so I picked them as the obvious ones.

I created the issue: bitbucket.org/PhracturedBlue/deviation/i...em-to-be-upside-down

As yes excuse me,I understand my mistake, sorry.
And yes there is the bug, trim+ (up) decrease channel output value while trim-(down) increase it.

Are both trim 5 and trim6 backwards, or just trim 5? It isn't clear from the 1st post.

Sorry for offtopic, but what to do the negative trim step? I changed negative values but don't understand what they do.

While we are talking about trims, i want to share an idea/suggestion. I post this in another thread about making trims act as switches, which i think is a good idea and would make programing mulitple mixes, such as flaps, not so limited by 2 or 3 switch positions. I also would like to use trims instead of bargraphs in the display. They should be able to display other channels and not be limited to just showing trim position.

I also noticed, with the devo12, that some of the dials inputs are reversed when displayed in the input monitor. Eg. Aux 2 when pushing dial up the bargraph moves down, but when pushing the dial up for aux3 on the other side, the bargraph moves up. Is this normal?

Aren't they mirrored physically? Probably this behavior is technically correct, but intuitively it should both move up when pushed up.

Hiya!

The trims are "reversed" for all 6 groups... I've been playing around with using the h/v trims for other features and noticed it a while ago...

Basically, you just "reverse" them on the trim page when you set them up :)

As far as toggels as switches go, I've been begging for that function since xmas! I think it might be cool if you needed to hold the trim button for 2 seconds so you don't accidentally enable one!

Cheers!

Cheers!

I have never seen this but you made me curious.

I take a fresh one and load the 6Ch Helicopter template. I do not change anything else. Going to the channel monitor page I see the bars rising whether I use move the stick or the trim in the same direction (up/left). I can not see any mixup so far.

If I assign TRIML / TRIMR to channels I see the channel moving correct with TRIMR, but wrong with TRIML. Obviously TRIML moves wrong.

BTW: It is a little bit confusing that on the trim page the -trim comes before the +trim, but on the detail page the sequence is changed.

It seems that PB reversed both trims TRIML and TRIMR:

Can you check this???

Yes, looks as if you are right. I am not sure what the problem with Devo10 was; I have made my tests with Devo12 and there is the TRIML wrong.
The position PB changed is where the button connectors go - I would have expected to change the method which reads the inputs rather than messing up the buttons...

Devo 12??? I don't see any problem with TRIML and TRIMR. With Devo 12 and Devo8.

yes, this is why I assumed the problem was with the trim mapping. I need to spend some time on the devo10 and test it for myself. i just haven't yet had time. On the devo8/12 you have the button tester to verify that the buttons map as expected.

My fault; please accept my apology. I had only little time and did not see that I have mixed it up by myself...
I am sorry for that.

Thanks PB

It looks like this already got answered, but just in case, both the left and right trim buttons were reversed for me.
