7E emulator was created by EArHog
With respect to the 7e, what's emulator? How do I use it?
(given the question, I assume there's no need to identify myself as a newbie

Best would be to start with www.deviationtx.com/user-manual/user-manual-7e-10

I saw that. It is what stimulated the question in the first place.

The emulator is a program, which you can run on your PC, and which acts exactly like the tx: you can configure models with it, which you can even upload to the tx later...

That was my presumption. I downloaded the program and opened it. Even if I could enter data into those boxes (I can't, or perhaps don't know how), how can I tell a good value from a bad value for that field?
I'm sorry if I try your patience. I will understand if I can't be helped.

The boxes on the right are just for debugging and testing purposes.
The emulator is shown on the left, but you probably didn't copied the filesystem to the exe's directory, so there is nothing shown. Am I right?

When I open the file I get a small window, left half of which is a USB logo and the right half is 30 - 40 boxes, most have 00.00. I'm not able to enter values (which I assume is the purpose). But even if I could enter values, I don't know how to learn what a proper value looks like.
I think I need a continuing education class at the local Community College.

Yep, just as I thought...
Download the filesystem for the 7E too, and unzip it into the folder where the emulator is...

Hi also new and can not get this to work. Using Win8 x64
The manual does not explain how to actually use this emulator.
When I execute the emulator I get two windows
Command prompt with following:-
Brightness: 1
Wait Release
Released
Wait Press
The other window is a GUI, left half of which is a USB logo and the right half has 40 boxes, most have 00.00. I copied the filesystem for the 7E into the same folder:-
Layout
Media
Modelico
Models
Protocol
Templates etc.
Where to from here?
Am I supposed to connect my 7E to computer via USB?
How does this emulator actually function?
Thanks and regards - bruce

The filesystem is missing.
You have to unzip iz into the directory of the emulator...

Devo 7E emulator use Devo10 filesystem, or simply rename filesystem\devo7e to filesystem\devo10
emu_devo7e.exe
...
filesystem\devo10
emu_devo7e.exe
...
filesystem\devo10

Thanks vlad_vy renaming to devo10 worked.
FDR as in my post I had unzipped into the exe folder but the default name devo7e is not recognised by emulator, which I did not know.
Regards - bruce
