DEVO7E Issue with USB Storage was created by blackmoon
I'm using deviation-devo7e-v3.0.0-ddf6350.zip nightly
This is maybe an hardware issue of my devo7E, so I would like to know if anyone has the same problem to rule out a software issue.
When I go into storage mode by powering on while holding ENT key, windows shows me the "which action do you want windows to execute" for the usb storage in my devo.
Then all of a sudden the transmitter continues it boot sequence, the main page is displayed, and the usb storage is gone in windows.
This happens if a hold the switch and release it or even if I press it for 4 seconds or more.
I have to go trough the process 3-4 times to have the transmitter stay in usb storage mode.

Thx for the reply Vlad.
Do you think it's a deviation issue or mostly a hardware issue on the devo line side ?

I have not seen it on my Devo8 with probably 50-60 updates and refreshing the file system, but I'll see if I can duplicate it tonight.
Does it happen when you enable the file system through the screen without a power off/on cycle?

I don't remember it exactly, but I think at USB page all works fine. It has place at boot time with pressed ENT button. Quite frequently, after I see USB picture and release ENT button, Tx boot to main page. Seems, if I hold ENT button pressed quite long, Tx remains at USB mode.

Could it be Battery Voltage related?
My Devo8 is normally on-charge when I use the Flash Drive. I know PB stops writing to the Flash memory when the voltage is low to prevent corrupting the drive, may be there is also a check when in external (PC) access mode?

No problems with Devo12 (even if I release "ENT" after half a second...). But Devo12 is charged via USB.
I will test my Devo8 later.

I think this is due to ENT button contact chatter. I have this problem with any state of charge, with full charged battery or any other state.
If you press ENT button at USB mode, Tx will boot to main page.

I am quite sure that this part is not under deviation control? If I am wrong, we could look for adding debouncing code.

Now I think it related to ENT button contact chatter. I can't reproduce this effect stably.

Yesterday I tried with the USB menu choice, I got the "press ent to turn the usb drive on" the TX stayed in usb mode until I pressed ENT again to exit usb mode.
The TX didn't boot to main page, I had to do an EXT to go back to the upper menu.
I'll try that for now on an report back, but it seemed more stable.

I think Vlad is right, I could not reproduce it either on the screen or using the power-on ENT button sequence.
Adding a small (10nF) filter/debounce capacitor over the switch contacts or from the active contact to ground could help.
