Bricked Devo 10?

I think I just bricked my 10 :-(.

I had recently installed a 7105 module, and it just froze up. I had had similar issues testing the install when a wire came lose, so I figured that had happened again. So I unplugged the battery (the only way to get it to go off) and opened it back up.

Everything was still attached. The connections to the 7105 are wire wrapped, so I figured those were good. The connections to the PCB are also solid. So I pulled the connections to the CYRF module (which was the issue earlier), and put them back with heat shrink to strengthen them and help insure they weren't shorting.

The devo doesn't power up. I have a sinking suspicion I overheated something in applying heat to the heat shrink.

I haven't taken anything apart at this point - other than pulling the and it's connections. I did verify that I was getting 11 volts from the battery.

So, suggestions on what to instrument/remove/etc. to see if I can resurrect the thing?

Do you have a voltmeter?
There is a set of 2 pads in a square box to the left of the 'RUDD-V' label (above a circle).
do you have voltage on either of those pads?
you could also unplug the cyrf module and A7105 module and see if it powers on, since a dead module could cause failure like this.

Yes, I have a voltmeter. More than one, actually :-). I had already checked that the battery was giving it power. I also found voltage on the board.

But it's not bricked :-) :-). Taking out both modules (since they were mated) and it booted. Put back the cyrf module, and it booted. Tossed the A7105 module.

Taking out the A7105 was the obvious next step, but I was beat last night and figured I'd ask for guuidance since I was waiting anyway.

Time to tear apart another toy tx. I seem to have a drawerfull.

Thanks for the help.
