Devo10 training with Devo 7 was created by otterslide
Anyone know if it is possible to get Devo10 with DeviationTX to accept input on training port from a plain Devo 7 (not 7e)?
Thanks!
Thanks!

If the devo 7 has a trainer port or a port to output PPM to drive a simulator then yes.

...but only if you use the nightly builds, because PPM In is not in the v3.0.0

When is the next official release scheduled?
I'm a bit hesitant to use the nightlies, so I'm eagerly awaiting then next official.
I too have a Devo 10 with Deviation, and a Devo 7 I'd like to use as a trainer box for my kids.
You guys are doing some amazing work!

Devo7 with 10 works perfectly.
All your DR/EXP on the Devo7 will take effect though and be sent to the Devo10, so you might want to make a profile with everything zeroed out on the Devo7. Connect up the trainer cable, and set up PPM on Devo10. I had to set num_channels manually through the INI file, I couldn't find this setting in the menus. This is my CH mapping to make them equal each other..
I successfully bound DSMX Hobbyzone Champ and controlled it through Devo7 by trainer port into Devo10! Really cool.
[ppm-in]
mode=channel
num_channels=6
switch=AIL DR1
centerpw=1500
deltapw=400
map1=Ch3
map2=Ch4
map3=Ch2
map4=Ch1
map5=Ch5
map6=Ch6
all you need is 4 chan for the sticks though!
Use the channel monitoring to figure out if it's working..

If you use channel mode the channel output from Devo7 is used as output in Devo10 (pass through). So all expo/dr settings come from Devo7. It is directly put to the output.
If you want to make all expo/dr settings in your Devo10, make a 1:1 (-100...100 resp. 0-100) config in your Devo7 and use the stick mode. In this case the output from Devo7 is used as stick position in Devo10.
Be careful when you flip the switch. The Devo10 will take control - if you use channel mode, the model config from your Devo10 gets active and if the configs differ, there might be sudden jumps. This will not happen when you use the stick mode as long as you have the sticks at the same position as your trainee...

Thanks, I didn't know there's a stick mode. I'll give that a try tonight.
This PPM in option is really great.. I thought I made a mistake getting the Devo7 but now I have a good use for it!
