Devo 8 training master mode was created by Flo38
Hi everybody,
I'am currently trying to help someone to begin model flying.
As I don't find a trainer capability on the original devo 8 radio, I would like to know whether it is possible on the deviation protocol ?
I read a topic about using a deviation devo 8 as a slave, but here I would want it to be a master for a dx4e.
Thank you really much

I use a DX5e as a slave of a Devo8S (and not DX8S as previously said ). It works well.
Should be quite similar to the DX4e.

I assume BitOne meant Devo8S not DX8S.
Deviation does support master mode, but only in the nightly builds. Someone should probably set up a howto tutorial for this.

The original Walkera fw can act as a master too, but then the channel order is fixed to EATR, which might be different on the trainee's tx.
If you mean the released deviation version under "original", then yes, you have to wait some more...

Yes, I meant deviation 3.0 or after because apparently it is not compliant with this one.
Maybe I should ask a question to understand what the nightly build is. In my opinion it is a currently tested version, which should lead to functionnal options once they are validated.
Am I wrong somewhere ?

Yes the nightly versions are "under-development" versions that are built when changes are made, usually. That may not necessarily mean every night.
From my reading of FB posts, he only allows commits of stuff that actually works and does not cause any new issues to crop up in his repository. If you build your own from his or ask someone to build it for you, you can play with all the new or fixed features and pretty much have a "finished" versions as of that particular date.
This could also help those developing just in case the rare bug does slip in and then it can be reported. The small active group does not know everything about how DeviationTX is used and we all learn something new nearly every day.
