Using switches (e.g. trim) to inc / dec channel ?

Hi !
This is probably possible, i just cannot find out how:

I would like to "simulate" another analogue input knob.
For this i imagined to use a trim switch up & down to steadily increase the value of an output channel.

So for example Channel 6 starts with 0%, holding a trim up button now increases 10% per second, trim down decreases 10% per second so i could use the trim buttons to go from -100% to +100% (maybe even with the luxury of a translation curve).

Please shoot me if the question is too dumb, but how to do that ?

Greetings,

Ender

P.S. i would use 2 trim switches to adjust camera gimbal horizontal and roll value as he devo 7e has no analogue knobs...

Since no one else has responded yet, I'll tell you all I know about it:
In the mixer, click on the template button for channel 7 and choose the trim switch as the input. This will enable the trim switch to change the output on the channel.

Hi John !
I have been at that part, but i only managed to assign a static value to switch on or off.
What i like to do is to use the trim buttons to continuously increase or decrease a channel value.
(Well sort of like trimmers usually wok, but allowing the full range of -100% to 100% without adding any other buttons / sticks at a desired channel).

Greetings & thanks,

Ender

Just take some channel assign "None" as the input. go to trims set the step to 0.3 and assign the trim you want to the channel

I was wrong in my previous post since the mixer template doesn't have trim switches as an option.

IMback's method seems to work, but the step size needs to be 1.0 to get the full range of -100% to +100%.

Hello PB.

Actually i did !
IMHO non of the 3 modes did what i need:
Momentary / Toggle / On-Off.

IMBack's solution sounds good, like i said, can not try it right now, will do later.

Sorry you are right. I'll add instructions for using it as a virtual channel too. I thought it was in there.

Using IMback's method, I have channel 7 changing up and down properly with the left vertical trim button, but that trim position is not displayed on the home screen along with the three other trims. Its display is stuck at maximum and doesn't move. Any ideas?

File is attached.
