Nightly devo7e-v4.0.1-1e2cebf - Bind Issues was created by stringrazor
I loaded nightly deviation-devo7e-v4.0.1-1e2cebf.zip yesterday trying to get the extra switch working but didn't have time to bind anything. Today when I tried to fly, DEVO & DSM helis wouldn't bind unless set on top of the Tx then they lost bind immediately. My HiSky V922 was fine (NRF24L01 and A7105 modules are installed and configured). I removed the switch wire so no connection was made but that wasn't the issue. I reloaded the 4.01 DFU and restored my backup and all was ok again, DEVO and DSM helis bound and did not have an extreme range issue.
My hardware.ini and tx.ini are attached. I also tried enabling cryf6936 but that didn't help.
Did I screw up or do i need to fill out a bug report?

with an unmodded devo7e, you should ensure that the hardware.ini says 'has_pa-cyrf6936 = 0'
That should already be there on the default devo7e filesystem. If that doesn't help, or you've already tried it, let me know.

I did the range mod on my Devo7e on Saturday. The diode is shorted.
In the 4.01 release I have 'has_pa-cyrf6936 = 1' in the tx.ini file. I have not had a chance to do a definitive range test but I did a quick test of about 75 yards (down the block) and didn't lose bind. I reloaded 4.01 and re-checked and it seems to be working as before. Then I reloaded the nightly and it failed again as I described.
I did try has_pa-cyrf6936 = 0 but it made no difference. The only thing that works is dropping back to 4.01.
update: I re-downloaded the nightly, extracted fresh, reloaded the dfu, formatter the USB FS, reloaded the FS from the fresh DL but the problem persists no matter what value for has_pa-cyrf6936 I try. I have dropped back to 4.01 and everything seems to be ok (too late to fly but bind and control seems nominal).
The nightly, for me, seems broken.

I have exactly the same issue with that nightly. The only way my Nano qx will bind is with Tx at 150mW and nano within an inch of tx, prior to this update it would bind and fly reliably at 1mW indoors.
Range mod done and Hardware.ini modified.
No problem with Hubsan X4 or Q4 on A7105.
Have tried compiling with multimod both enabled and disabled but makes no difference.
My last build was 689090a and after reverting to that everything is fine.

Is the 7e version of 689090a available anywhere? If not, would you please either attach it to a reply or email a copy to stringrazor at gmail. Thanks.

I updated the nightly build with what should be a fix for this issue. I am not near my Tx now, so I can't verify, but the current nightly should address it

Many thanks for the swift update PB, it has resolved the bind/range issue for DSM, can't check Devo as I have no models that support it!

Looks like my issues are resolved too. Devo & DSM models bind ok now. I'll fly them tomorrow.
Thanks for the quick fix, PB!

Update: flew through models covering all 3 radios and the 5 protocols that I have birds for (Devo, DSM, HiSky, FlySky, & Hubsan) and everything seems to be working well.
