Wondering how many files in total should be in the virtual drive ?

You didn't mention what version of the firmware you are running, or what transmitter you are running. These both affect the answer.
But you can answer this yourself by simply downloading the zip file and tking a look.

Im running the 12s with 4.01 the reason I asked was because somehow the media folder was in it and was very close to maxing it out. I been fiddling a round and figured how to load an icon but now struggling to upload the brown splash screen. Funny I got it to open as my desktop but cannot get it into the radio. Im like a snail trying to figure this computr stuff out.Nice to see more stuff popping up.

The devo12 is a completely different beast.
to update files in the media folder (except for the icons) you need to rebuild the lib.
You'd probably want to look here for more info:
