Another puzzling question!

The Deviation Firmware Manual for the DEVO 7E & 10 links directly to Walkera for the DfuSe USB Tool download and it downloads v2.0
I found a download from the German's Walkera-Fans website that is v2.31 Not sure if it is allowed to be linked here, or not, so I won't until a Moderator or the Admin says it's OK to do so.

I am brand new to Deviationtx, so I don't want to screw this up. So, these questions go out to any more experienced members here:

1. Which one would you install?
2. Does it really matter which version gets used?
3. I am running Windows 8.1, and have read that some are having trouble with 8.1 and having to run on an XP box to get it done. Will v2.31 eliminate this problem?

It's a non-issue, I guess. I used the dfuse v2.0 with my Windows 8.1 OS box, and everything went well.

The display contrast was kind of low when I first fired up after deviation was complete, so upped the contrast and backlight values so I could see things a little better. Surfed the menus a bit and calibrated the sticks. :cheer:

Yay!!! First step is done. Now I need to get the modules that I want to install and go to work with the soldering iron after I read up on it a little more and decide how to go about it.

Hi,

just received my Devo 10 today. I wish to flash the firmware but I saw that the manual recommends to take v2.0 while Dfuse USB Upgrade Tools 2.31.zip is available.
Do I use the last version ?

The manual says "Normally you should use the latest one." It's the normally that worries me, I wouldn't want to be the exception...

Thanks a lot :)

Cheers

I used Walkera DfuSe v2.0 with Windows 8.1, also I used a USB 2.0 port(black) on my PC to connect the Tx. I didn't try it with USB 3.0 port(blue).

You also can use the Deviation Uploader Utility, instead of using the Walkera DfuSe tool.
There are instructions on how to use both of these in the User Manuals that are under the Main Menu column at the left.

I plan on using the Deviation Uploader next time that I need to flash my DEVO 10.

Help. Cant get pc to recognize devo 10. Using windows 10. HP pc with amd a6 processor. 64 bit. I'm getting error code 43. It seems like a driver or compatibility problem. What's strange is the it was actually working once upon a time.

Get the driver installer that PB wrote some time ago for both Walker's Dfuse tool and the Deviation Uploader app from this location:
www.deviationtx.com/downloads-new/category/161-dfu-usb-tool
I recommend using the Uploader as well, rather than the Dfuse. Can be used for any version of Deviation as well as Walkera's firmware if you need to fall back for any reason.
Not sure about Win 10, but worth a shot. Report back with your results, please. :)

Unfortunately still not able to get pc to recognize Tx. It seems very much like a driver issue because it worked without problem on my pc running windows 10. Don't know if I inadvertently did something to lose the ability to access USB or Dfuse modes. I am not an expert with pc lingo etc. but can comprehend simple directions. Not to sound too simplistic is there a step by step instructions for up loader /Dfuse and which versions to use for each operating system? A Deviation for dummies? Just to ensure I'm not overlooking anything. Also I am wondering as a last ditch effort is there a way of accessing the info manually by taking the module out and connecting to pc or something to reflash and start over. Could it have been possibly an error during the initial install? Also was able to access My wife's laptop which has windows 8 same results. I actually went back to windows 7 on my pc to see if it would work only to similar results. The only difference was that if I manual searched for a driver it would install device for a few seconds request a restart for changes to take effect. After restarting it would not recognize device. I went back inside of Tx to see if the usb soldering connections we faulty to find that they were intact and solid. Someone please help me. Lol my wife s going crazy over this.

That thread contains step-by-step guidance I provided to another user recently. He's using a Devo 12, but those steps are fine for all Devos.

Great news was able to fix the problem with getting my pc to recognize Tx. It turns out that the STM32zip file contains something that corrected the issue with the driver. Working fine now Thanks again to all of my deviation brothers and sisters.
