White devo 10 and NRF24l01 was created by harmony96
Hi.

I have a problem to install NRF24L01 module to my white devo 10.

I have two walkera radios.
One is devo8s, and the other is devo 10.

In devo8s, I had installed A7105 and CC2500 modules.
In devo10 (White), I had installed A7105 and NRF24l01 modules.

Devo8s works fine.
I can successfully bind and fly helicopters from other vendors.

In a case of devo10 (white), I can use A7105 module. I can bind v911 and other RCs from wltoys.
However, I could not bind hcp80 and v977.

Of course, I carefully checked the wires many times.
Also, because I have experiences to install other three modules, I believe that the probability for bad wiring is low.
So, I first doubt my NRF24l01 module that I bought from aliexpress.

After that, I placed an order for the new NRF24l01 module.
Today, I have installed it....
But, still not working.

I have a radio adapter for hisky (HT8).
When I use the HT8, the HCP80 and v977 work.
So the helicopters have no problem.

What I tried is to change the enable signal.
If one of CE (chip enable) in my devo10 white is not normal, only one of modules will work.
So, I tried to change CE between A7105 and NRF24l01.
The A7105 works for any CEs.

What should I do?

Any suggestions and advice are welcome.

Thank you.

Hello harmony96,

I want to install the nrf to a white Devo 10 too.
Is there a description in the internet how to do this?

Thanks in advance!

Uwe

Which firmware version is on the tx? Did you bind CE to Vcc?

Devo7e, TaranisQ X7, R9M , 4in1 MM, Futaba FC18plusV3.2 & DFT/FLD-02

aMax beat me to it! I think that's a good question.

Can you post a photo of your wiring or maybe a schematic? In my schematic, the CE for the NRF24L01 module is tied to Vcc and always high. The CSN line is connected to your TMS or TCK on the TX board. Is it possible you've reversed the purpose of those two lines?

Solder Point on NRF24L01

Deviation Devo7e 3way switch mod, A7105, NRF24L01
Devo6s 2x2 switch mod, trim mod, haptic, multimodule, A7105, NRF24L01, CC2500
Devo12e 4-in-1 with voice mod -- it speaks!!

Wow!!!!

I misunderstood the signals of CE and CSN.
I thought that I carefully checked all signals, but I was wrong.
Now it is working..
My devo 10 can bind my birds on FW 4.0.1.

However, after upgrading it to nightly build (2015-05-15), the protocols related with additional modules are disabled.
In front of protocols, there is asterisk.

What I did was....
1) download nightly build for devo 10
2) delete all the files in devo drive.
3) Edit hardware.ini in hard drive.
4) Copy the new files to devo.
5) double-check hardware.ini in devo10.

The followings is my hardware.ini
;Only useful for transmitters with an after-market vibration motor
;enable-haptic=1
;
;switch_types: 3x2, 3x1, 2x2
;extra-switches=
;
[modules]
; there is no need to enable the cyrf6936 module unless
; it is wired to an alternate port. It is Enabled automatically otherwise
; enable-cyrf6936 = B12
; has_pa-cyrf6936 = 1
enable-a7105 = A13
has_pa-a7105 = 1
; enable-cc2500 = A14
; has_pa-cc2500 = 1
enable-nrf24l01 = A14
has_pa-nrf24l01 = 1
; enable-multimod = A13

Thank you!

Note that the hardware connections for anything after 4.0.1 are sitters different than they are for 4.0.1. Did you change that as well?

Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.

My remotely piloted vehicle ("drone") is a yacht.

Thank you.

How can I change the hardware connections? Do you mean that I should change the connections of additional modules?

I found an answer.
I need DFU upgrade for the nightly builds.
