Safety Issue with Devo 7e, 8S and 10 was created by Gerhard_H
Hi !
How can I avoid accidental running up of the motor/rotor - in case Flight Mode switch is on stunt mode for instance (and Throttle Hold not activated) ?
When I switch on the radio under such conditions I only get a warning that throttle safety value isn't safe, but it doesn't tell me the reason why. So I am entrapped to simply confirm with OK.
I remember my old Walkera 2801 radio which didn't run up with FM switch not zero.
Sorry, though I go with Deviation for quite a long time I am still not familiar with that whole mixer stuff (OK, I'll try my best . . .)
TIA
Gerhard

I use a sticky throttle hold for that.

Virtual channel (Virt1 for me) = Complex Mix - 3 pages

1.Page 1:
Switch = None
Src = this virtual channel (Virt1 for me)
Curve = Min/Max
Scale = 100
Offset = 0
Mux = replace

2.Page 2:
Switch = None (FMOD0 for Heli)
Src = THR
Curve = 1-to-1
Scale = 100
Offset = -1
Mux = add

3.Page 3:
Switch = the switch who enable the throttle cut (RUD DR1 for me)
Src = none
Curve = Fixed
Scale = 100
Offset = 0
Mux = replace

Now you can use the virtual channel as safety switch for THR.

I don't use safety field for throttle channel, but aditional (last) page for throttle and pitch mixers with desired hold values and fixed curve.

Well, if you ignore the warning, then there's not really much you can do.

it can't really tell you why the throttle output isn't at min - there could be any number of reasons for that, depending on the model config. Nuts, I think it's doing pretty good to figure out which channel is the throttle channel all by it's lonesome!

You should be familiar enough with the model config to know what switches/etc. would affect the throttle output, and verify that they are in the "safe" position for the model.

Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.

My remotely piloted vehicle ("drone") is a yacht.

@vlad_vy
Followed your advice and it works, off course (does the same as before).
But I don't have any idea what happens there so I've got to search for the manual . . .

Wow . . . :ohmy:
Thx for that "look inside" anyway !
I have a Devo8S too ( and a MiniCP also) so I can take a closer look how that stuff works.
