Devo 7e switches was created by Castcreator
I recently installed 2 3way switches following a tutorial here on deviationtx.com. I have installed deviation but do i need the nightly build in order to run these new switches. I do not see ele dr or ail dr in my mixer tab.

Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.

Yes, you need the nightly build. You also need to edit hardware.ini (do not use notepad, use an editor that can deal with non-Windows line endings like Notepad++) hardware.ini on the Tx to enable the switches. Uncomment the extra_switches line, and set it to 3x2.
They will show up as SW A and SW B, not AIL DR, etc.

Thank you for this! Helps a lot of 7e owners. I thought i need to learn how to build deviation for this mod. I'm sure there's info on this in some topic but there is a lot of topics and messages:) It's an effort to learn all the things as a newcomer and I think some forums are too strict about asking questions. The search engines on all forums is pain in the arse to find what you are looking for.

Hello,
I have a friend who has a problem installing a 3 positions switch for Devo 7E. Why do we not use Notepad because I think it's maybe that his problem. He used two 1N4003 diodes, I think it's OK?
These are the positions of switches SW A.
Position 0 - 100
100
-100
Position 1 - 100
100
-100
Position 2: - 100
- 100
100
and here is the hardware ini file and a screenshot.
I see that the switch is called "SW A" and we connected right, it maybe not good?
What do you think?
For all your work! Thank-you

No, there is something wrong. The first switch position is not registering correctly. Basically the switch is implemented as part of a matrix, and when the switch is in the up and down positions (not middle) it shorts into the matrix. In the middle position nothing is shorted. So the third position is good, and the middle position is good, but the first position isn't connected right.

Without an actual view of the installation I can only point you to the general potential issues based on your photo above. Given that the problem is with SWA0, I think that switch point is connected to the positions used by the brown or green wires, and the most likely one is the brown one on your photo. It could be a wire problem that you might be able to see with an ohmmeter. It could be that your diode on that side of the switch is bad. It could be a cold or bridged solder joint. It could be a bad switch. That's where I would start. I hope this helps you get to the bottom of this issue.

Yes, you help me. I just compare my wires on my TX and now I'm sure the SW A is on right (orange, red and brown wires), so in this case you say that it is brown for the SW A0, is that it?

Yes, the brown one is probably where the trouble lies. But I should point out that since this is a button matrix, it's also possible that something else could be wrong. Unlikely, but possible. I'm thinking it's a cold solder joint or maybe the diode is backwards. Let me know what you find.

It's hard to find what is wrong. Apparently everything is good and it does not run. Do you have any ideas other than diodes, a bad connection or a bad weld. The Channel monitor screen, Stick input is good, we can see the switch, but the positions do not work!

Can you clarify a bit as I'm not quite sure of what you can see working. In the input monitor, you should see SWA0, SWA1 and SWA2, and moving the toggle should show the value change. If you are seeing the SWA input bars, but you are getting no movement when you toggle, then it's probably an electrical problem. Wrong or backwards diodes are a common issue. I used 1n4148 without problems, and other recommendations abound, and they must be polarized properly.
I am really not sure about using the 1n4003. This fellow used 1n4001 and it didn't work, and I'm not sure how close your 1n4003 is to what we need.
The screen shot of your input monitor shows that your Hardware.ini is right. Once you are seeing the values change on the input monitor, then you will only see a change on the channel monitor when the switch is assigned to a channel. A simple mixer assigning SW A1 to channel 6 should do it.
If it still isn't working, perhaps a photo of the actual installation of the switches and diodes might reveal more to us.

Now it works! I've looked for two weeks! I tested the wires and recently replaced the 1N4003 diodes with 1N4148 and it still does not work with only one switch. Finally I put the second switch and everything goes. So I tell myself that maybe it does not work with only one switch. What do you think?
Otherwise, I have already mounting 1N4001 diodes on another TX and it works.

Glad it's working!
I really don't know why it's doing that. It's a matrix so maybe we could figure it out, but it's no problem now. In any case be sure to test the switches thoroughly before going out to the field. And Happy Flying!
