Bind problem. loading nightly build to devo 7e.

Hi all, kinda new to this.
I have soldered in some modules and loaded deviation software.

i recently went and downloaded the newest nightly as i needed to change the hardware file for the modules but i am unsure how to load this to the devo7e?
can't find any info on it or youtube video?

is it just an update file or a full reflash again? thanks

You should do a a full new installation!

thanks for the reply, I loaded the original 4.0.1 and changed the file in that for the new hardware.

i have wired in the nRF24L01 (from bang good) and the cc2500 (bang good) also bridged the diode with silver solder paste for range mod.
used the wiring pinout on this site.
my solder skills are good enough.

it seems when i try to bind after changing the protocol to v2x2 click bind it resets the devo back to the boot up screen as if you turned it on.
also try and bind with my skyartic protocol. pressing enter again on the bind it does nothing at all?

seems like 2 different problems to me, any ideas? i have photos of my wiring i will try and post

This is the pins I wired in to plug both the modules in.
Nrf is in TCK and changed to a14
Cc2500 is inTMS changed to a13

The jumper wires on the CC2500 transceiver are different for the Nightly firmware than they are for the 4.0.1 release version.

*4.0.1 release, and older versions: Connect 9->3.3v and 10->GND. Leave 5 and 7 floating
After 4.0.1(Nightly Builds), connect 5->10 and 7->9.

Something to do with power management, I think. I believe that the earlier jumper positions leave the transceiver powered up, even when that one is not currently being used to transmit.

The nRF24L01 is OK as-is.

p.s.
The solder joint on your green wires appears to be a cold solder joint to me, definitely not shiny like it should be. Might want to dab some flux on that one and re-melt that one, or re-do it altogether.

With 4.0.1 this likely means the CPU can't communicate with the nRF module. The nighly build would probably give you a missing module error instead of rebooting. It generally means a problem with the MISO connection.

On the cc2500 I joined the 7-9 and 5-10 so I will need to load the nightly files to easily fix that. Once I get that working I can investigate the solders and make sure they are good and getting the correct volts.
