Devo 7e Tx not recognised was created by IflyallthingsRC
I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. I just can't seem to flash my Devo 7e. I'm using 2.0 defuse tool and have unzipped all files, I've located the driver folder, yet I'm still not successful. Since there aren't any instructions on official deviation instructions on how to install the driver, I've been following SebyDocky's tutorial on RCGroups (I've also looked at others as well). I'm following their instructions exactly and yet I can't install the driver. There is one differnece though andthat is that my Windows 8.1 PCrecognises the Devo 7e as a unknownUSB device, NOT a STM Device.

Would that have a effect? Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions?

Here's a video with the problem:

Thanks in advance,

In downloads -> dfu USB tool there's a dfu USB driver installer.you might try that. And the trick of unplugging all your USB devices except the 7e.

Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.

You will need at least version 2.30 of this Walkera Dfuse tool.
Get it from here... walkera-fans.de/downloads/

Can I use the one available from the deviation downloads section? (I don't understand German)

It still didn't work, the devo isn't recognized as a STM32 device. I've used the dfu USB driver installer and nothing changed. And I only have the Devo 7e plugged in, nothing else (except Power Supply to the PC)
I'm using the 2.31 version of the dfu USB upgrade tool.

Just click on the folder that's says "Tools" (that's English, BTW) =O) , then select whichever version of DfuSe you want. I used v2.0 on my Windows 8.1 box, and it worked fine.

Also try using a USB 2.0 connection port (black port), instead of a USB 3.0 (blue port).

EDIT:
P.s.
You are holding down the EXT button when you power up your DEVO, right???

DEVO 10 - Multi-module with nRF24L01 +PA +LNA, A7105 +PA, & CC2500 +PA +LNA transceivers.

Use USB 2.0 ports as RedSleds advised and additional this tool >>> www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html
to verify which driver the cr...... Windows has installed for it..

What are you doing. Your cam record is 90 degree switched to vertical when you show your display screen?!? Funny..

Are you sure you have pressed the right button?
It is "EXT" on Devo 10, "ENT" is USB mode.
The DFuse tool will find your Devo transmitter in the "EXT" firmware flash mode.
Well, probably not with your yellow device manager signal :-(

Maybe try a different computer?

BTW: I am using dfuse V1.7.0 on WinXP laptop with Devo10. Works as a charm :-)
I would assume that the USB dfuse driver is just not compatible with your Win8.1? Maybe other drivers conflict?
Are you using the front or back USB port?

Spektrum Dx5e?
Come on...You probably mean Spektrum DX7 G2 (the new black one) or the on toy fair announced DX8G2 (antenna diversity) :-)

This can be an option... ;) , but joke aside.
You seem to have a user restriction on your Windows OS. Try as admin or get somebody who knows how to do that.
As long as the driver "STTUB30,sys" does not appear, it will not work.
Just installed the tool ( version 2.31) by one click on a fresh Win7/64 and it was ok.

Even nowadays a good way to go. Do all my technical stuff with such a device.
RC(Devo), flight controller, esc, receiver flashing,STLinK V2,logic analyzing and more.
Not to forget, the FTDI gate did not work on XP... :P

OK, I'm going to run it as administrator using a older driver. Then if that doesn't work I'll give it a shot with my Windows 7 laptop, (why did I ever upgrade).

Thanks for your input everyone.

Still didn't work, but this time (on my windows 7 laptop) a driver did install automatically upon pligging the tx in, the publisher was Windows though, so I would think if at that stage there was a option to manually select a driver it would work.

Any ideas left? ;)

Still yellow sign in device manager?

Plug your devo in. Then uninstall the driver by right clicking on the Devo 7e. And then install them again with the devo plugged in
