RX1002 Wont bind to Devo 10 was created by champstar2828
I plug in the bind plug and the red light blinks. Then I turn off power unplug bind plug, turn power back on, but red led will not blink. It is supposed to be blinking faster but is not blinking at all. The Tx has fixed ID turned off. I followed instructions, but it does not seem to be working. Any ideas?

I believe the instruction you are referring to is missing a vital step or 2.
In that step 5, he says to "turn off" the fixed ID code. You actually have to delete the numbers that are in that field. But this is not the critical part.
Step 6. Re-insert the bind plug in the receiver.
Step 7. Power on the receiver and see a rapidly blinking red light.
Step 8. Power on the transmitter and (assuming you have chosen a Devo protocol for the active model) see the red light go solid.
Step 9. Remove the bind plug and power off the receiver.
Step 10. Power off the transmitter.
That's the initial binding that you must do.
You can continue on with his Step 5. to make a fixed ID.
Let me know if I've screwed up somewhere :-)

<Edit> About his missing something... his procedure is more about making a fixed ID and not about binding for the first time. From that standpoint his tutorial is OK, but his title is wrong.

Just tried and still same. The red light blinks slowly and does not connect when I turn on the tx. I have the latest nightly build firmware installed. I'm not sure if that is a factor.

It occurs to me now that you are not talking about the Deviation firmware, but the Devention firmware, right?
In the case of Devention firmware, yes, you do need to turn off the Fixed ID switch that is present. The Deviation firmware does not have a switch.
But, everything else should be the same. So, is that switch turned off in your transmitter? If not, tu;rn it off and try again, then report back.
Sorry to mislead you.
<Edit> Oops again! I see that you say you are using the latest nightly, so you must be using Deviation. So, no switch to contend with. But, why didn't it bind? stumped for the moment.

Currently running version devo10-v4.0.1-aa82a64
I believe this is deviation and not devention, but I could be wrong on that

I finally got it to bind. Thank you Arnold for your input. I had to overcome a couple of issues. 1st I had to connect the power to the batt port, also found out I had my wires upside down going into the rx.
Finally binded now. Can't wait to fly.

Now my problem is getting baseflight to recognize aux inputs from the tx. Throttle roll pitch work, but aux doesn't seem to work. I calibrated the tx.
Also where can I find the endpoint settings?

Set/assign these switches in the flight controller software.... Baseflight-Configurator > modes.

I can do that in baseflight, but baseflight will not recognize the aux input. After more research, I want to assign FDMODE1 to aux 1. How can this be done?
Thank you

How can I set end points? In clean flight my YAW is set to 1900 any little move will arm the motors. I'm still trying to set this thing up after 2 days 0 flights.

Found how to set end points. Have to go under mixer on tx and adjust settings. Now I have a problem with my rudder. I will not center
it is either low or high and arms the motors. I'm not sure what to do. I'm giving up for now.

Subtrim does the magic.

My advice, switch to cleanflight since there are great documentation files about anything you need to know.
Lack of knowledge and a weak setup will cause you to crash more than necessary..

Thank you everyone who commented. I finally have it flying.
My fixes.
1. Flash to cleanflight
2. Calibrate tx
3. check model.ini file and made sure all channels were set up right.
4. Change end-points under model menu, mixer
5. Set channel6 to fdmode0 to use aux switch to change flight modes
Done.
It took me a while, but I think I have the first part set. Now I am learning how to set the 3 position switches.
I get it to switch only between high and low. How can I use the full 3 range?

Wrong topic here....
This not part of the Deviation software, use the Cleanflight - Configurator (modes) to assign a valid range to each function.
