Getting an 8s back to stock FW was created by Crossrock
I have a new Devo 12 coming and cant for the life of me work out (or find how) to get my 8s back to stock FW. I have deviation 4 running on it but Walkera's site has no FW listed for it now under service and links in the "How-to" here in the forum has dead link. Believe me I have looked (for hours) and not asking without having done a heap of searching.
Helllpppp.
Helllpppp.

Thanks Tom... yes I did find that but all the folders (models etc) I cant find. I made a copy when I installed deviation but that was a while ago and were lost in a computer crash.

As far as i know, when you got back to stock walkera firmware, the original models should still be there.

Just tried doing the Update like ppl have said to do but the screen is unreadable and TX turns off. I thought it was a bit trickier than that

I've done it successfully many times. Write ("Upgrade") firmware file at "Firmware" tab and library file at "Library" tab.

This sounds like you didn't install the library.
Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.
My remotely piloted vehicle ("drone") is a yacht.

Yes I agree it sounds like library didnt install but I did install the dfu lib file from the German site. With those 2 files the FW will allow me to either upgrade or upload but lib file I only get the upgrade option. I ended up upgrading to the new deviation 5 just to get the screen back. I'm wondering if I connect via usb in v5 and delete the lib files first whether it may work. So basically still

Common mistake is to choose the "upload" instead of upgrade, however that uploads the content from the TX into the selected file on the PC, which ruines the selected file.
Download the files again ( www.deviationtx.com/downloads-new/catego...tter-stock-firmwares ), and make sure you "upgrade" both the fw and the library.
