Missing Modules CYRF6936 on Devo10 when up. to 5.0 was created by StarCharlou
Hello there,
I stumbled upon this post www.deviationtx.com/forum/stock-firmware...evo10-after-upgraded and thought I had the same problem as the guy... yet it seems he was rather on a hardware issue (and the post was not considering a stock devo, so it was misplaced). Therefore here is the summary of my problem :
My Devo 10 was already modded with a A7105 and working properly, mainly used on the DEVO protocoles.
I was on a 4.0.1 nightly (don't remember which one), all was fine. I've just upgraded to 5.0.0 but in two steps :
1 - I just upgraded the filesystem (silly, I forgot I had to upgrade the firmware)
-> the radio did boot, I saw I had the wrong firmware version number and understood my mistake
2 - I then ran deviation uploader to upgrade the firmware to 5.0.0, first without formatting or anything
-> upload ok, restart the TX : Missing Modules CYRF6936
3 - I tried to proceed with a full format on 5.0.0, upload ok, then restarted
-> Missing module CYRF6936
4 - I tried downgrading to a stock v4.0.1 firmware + filesystem (full format)
-> Boots properly and works. No missing CYRF, I've been able to bind to my RX1002 and RX601 without any problem.
So it's clearly linked to the upgrade / the default conf. after the upgrade.
Any hint on that ? Thanks !

Can you post your tx.ini and hardware.ini from the 5.0 install? The syntax for these files may have changed from the 4.0 nightly and it HAS changed from the 4.0.1 release.

As I said, I took the default & basic tx & hardware.ini, from the 5.0.0 release since I did a full format on step 3.
(and since I did backup my model but forgot to backup my *.ini... silly of me...)

If you are using the default hardware.ini then it shouldn't give you that error. It certainly sounds like you've done what you need to do to have it working. If it was me I would file a bug report. I might also try to load a more recent nightly just to test.

Thanks for the advice Deal57.
I'll start over with the latest nightly, a fully charged battery and see what happens...

Ok so I've opened my tx for a crossed checked after having stumbled upon the
bitbucket.org/PhracturedBlue/deviation/wiki/ModuleList
page with the relevant mention for my A7105 :
As the wiring was a bit messy (I bought it as a second hand, already wired) and did not match the post4.0.1 instruction, I just removed the A7105 then started again with the fresh 5.0.0 release install and it does work.
So my problem were probably related to the obsolete A7105 wiring.
I'll rewire everything according to the new spec and see if it continues working, confirming the previous issue.
Thanks !
*4.0.1 and earlier: Connect 8->GND and 9->3.3V. Leave 6 and 7 floating
After 4.0.1, connect 6->9 and 7->8

Hi everyone,
I have not seen any solutions to resolve the missing module CYRF6936 on Devo 10 when upgrade to 5.0. My Devo 10 is a brand new, I installed the 4 in 1 module and download the firmware 5.0. When I turned it on, I got the message "missing module CYRF6936".
Any ideas to remove the message?
Thanks,
TD
