Model type: Airplane or Multirotor was created by NotFastEnuf
Just upgraded to 5.0 and noticed the model type multirotor has been added. I also am concerned the model type heli is no longer there ... although I don't own any collective pitch helis - I am concerned I messed something up in the upgrade.
Can anyone elaborate on the purpose of model type?
Is heli still supposed to be there in 5.0?
What is the difference between airplane and multi?
Thanks all! I've been enjoying deviation since version 1
Edit: Just double checked and heli is still there. So basically I'm just interested in the difference between airplane and multi. I'M guessing heli is for collective pitch preloaded mix.

Yes, heli should be there in 5.0.
The multirotor type is identical to airplane, except that it has a multirotor icon. It was added in case we ever decide to make it different, and to try and keep people from using the heli type, which tends to create problems.

Let me clarify something. There nothing wrong with the heli type per se. But it introduces potential problems when used with most multirotors, which the airplane type doesn't have. So providing a multi type guides beginners to a more appropriate model type.
