Anyone noticed DSM2/X issues with version 5.0.0 ? was created by vilaca
Hello,
My Devo10 became unusable with DSM2 and DSMX satelite receivers as the range has decreased immensely.
I now get less range with the TX at 150mW that I used to get with 10mW.
Has anyone else noticed this happening with version 5.0.0 ?
For now I can't blame the issue on the firmware update as I didn't fully debug the issue and it can be anything else but was wondering if this is happening to anyone besides me.

What DeviationTX version have you been on before?
What exact nightly-build?
Genuine Spektrum satellites?
What about range on a AR6210, AR8000?
How many distance? 30-35m / up to ~60m?

Can be a hw issue as well, if the PA has been fried.
Have you ever turned on the tx without the antenna?

I haven't installed 5.0 yet, but the easiest way to test would be to just install a previous version again?

I not using nightly builds. I upgraded from 4.0.1 to 5.0.0
The receivers used are lemon-rx
www.lemon-rx.com/index.php?route=product...ath=59&product_id=98
www.lemon-rx.com/index.php?route=product...th=72&product_id=135
Range is really bad. 30m at most with lots of glitches closer.
I don't recall that happening.
I'm going to test that next weekend.

In this case, testing with "Genuine Spektrum" doesn't help any more than testing with OrangeRx or a LemonRx Rx that is known to work with deviationTx. While the newer stuff didn't exist when the project started, given their price and popularity, we really do want to support them. If their implementation doesn't match the Spektrum implementation, well, neither does ours.
If someone else has reported that that hardware & version of deviation worked, then it's almost certainly not software, and you can debug that normally.
If that's not happening, then this may be a new software issue, so we shold eliminate hardware problems. Checking your Tx with any Rx that is known to work with the installed version of deviation will eliminate hardware issues on the Tx. Similarly, testing the Rx with a Genuine Spektrum Tx (or anything else that Lemon reports works with it, though I don't think there is any such) will eliminate it as a source of hardware problems.
If it looks like neither side has a hardware issue, then you're back to figuring out what deviationTx does differently from Spektrum, as LemonRx isn't going to fix their difference from Spektrum. Not sure who has time to do that, though.
Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.
My remotely piloted vehicle ("drone") is a yacht.

I've been using a recent nightly with 3 spektrum dsmx satellites on 2 aircraft for several weeks with no issues. My flight area is constrained to about 100m radius.
