Having trouble binding kingkong 90gt dsm2/dsmx

Can anyone help me, I'm trying to bind my Devo 7e to kingkong 90gt with dsm2/dsmx and not sure how to get it to bind. Thank you.

In cleanflight/betaflight set the rx protocol to serial and spektrum1024.

On the kingkong 90gt if you look at the receiver you will see a round copper circle with a black dot in the middle...that is your bind button.

Hold the bind button down while applying power (battery or usb).

The receiver should start blinking rapidly (amber/orange led on receiver).

Set your devo 7e to the dsm2 protocol and click the bind button on the devo. You should get a countdown that says "press ent to stop"...wait for the timer to get to zero and then the box should disappear and you should be bound to the receiver.

Verify your controls in cleanflight/betaflight.

Having a similar problem. I can get the receiver to bind to the transmitter as you mention, but when I connect to beta flight and try to verify the controls none of the transmitter sticks or switch movements register. I have set everything in Beta flight as you specified in your answer.
