Devo 10 Illuminated Logo with a red LED

I was always bugged by the fact that my Devo 10 didn't have an LED showing if it's currently on or off.

Well, today I decided to mount my own. I only had green and red leds around and I decided on red since it looks better with the sticks and writing. The LED is a 5mm, I put a resistor in series and connected it to 3.3V.

There is enough space to mount around 3x5mm LEDs inside. Sorry, I didn't took pictures while mounting it.

Very important: I sanded the LED before mounting just to have nicely diffused light.

Slightly related... I Was thinking team Deviation should make a sticker that's says Deviation to go right above where you've mounted your led... It would fit the theme too if only the "IA" and "DEVO 10" was transparent to let the LED through

A kit, with the LED and the sticker would be a great fund raiser for a well deserved development team (but that's a whole separate topic!).

Next time you take off her pants off (DEVO 10), please take a pic or 4 of the mod, I'd love to add this too!

Very NICE mod. May i ask where do you connect the 3.3v power supply from?

I am using 3s lipo battery... Not sure if i can do the LED mod and connect it directly on the on/off switch.

Same 3.3V we use for additional modules, together with GND of course. Because power comes directly from the board it lights up/turns off together with the transmitter.

I did similar to my 7e based on this post. I illuminated the little clear plastic "V" shape above the power switch using two 3mm LED's. Fitting the LED's was a tight fit, but the final result looks great. There is lots of info on the web for calculating the value of the current limiting resistor to use in line with the LED.

Please tell me which additional modules 3.3v you use? Or which is the exact parts that you tap the the wiring to?

I try open up my Devo 10 last night. I need to remove the middle small board in order for me to access the "Devo 10"... Man, There are many wires i really need to un-plug off from the small board.

The pins are listed in the additional module installation documents. I use basically the debug header to source power (yellow circle).




Thos wires you see are clearly labeled and mistakes should not be possible. But, before I disconnect anything new to me I take a picture. Simple but very effective way of remembering the initial state of what I'm gonna disassemble.

Not to hard to change out old logo and put new one in.

Sadsack how do you change out the deviation logo?
