DEVO12 or 12S?

I am looking into purchasing a Devo radio, simply to use Deviation FW on it.

What are everyone's thoughts on a 12 or 12S radio for such use? Should I simply look at the 8s?

I like the touchscreen option, hence the 10s do not appeal to me.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!
