Should i use lipo in devo 10?

Ok, i will purchase a 2s LiFe then, and just test it to see at what voltage the tx will turn off. It it works ok until 5volts it will very good. Thank you.

I would get a 3S LiFE instead of a 2S. Hobbyking makes one that fits perfectly. Actually I think they make 2, one 1800mah and one 2100mah, good price too.

Also, DO NOT USE 150mw if you want decent battery life, that power setting HALVES the battery life for a marginal range improvement.

As a general rule, this is how my power settings are used:

* 100mw - 5, 6, 7" quads, flying behind obstacles sometimes, can't take chances with these.
* 30mw parkflyer planes, line of sight or indoor in parking lots or similar.
* 10mw indoor flying.

I am not an electronics guru by any means, but there are many on these forums that would say any voltage over what is required by the voltage regs in the devo's is wasted in heat and puts electronic components at risk. Please refer to the fourth & sixth post on page 1 of this thread by PB.

Because it's much easier to find a shape that fits. Simple as that.

But Fer has already stated that he has modified the battery compartment and installed a BEC and switch. Will the battery you suggest still be a perfect fit?

I have the 1800mah 3S and it fits perfectly in the stock compartment.

Well I tried plugging in my fully charged 7,4 V 2000 mah battery and it showed only 1/4 of battery. Plugging in my fully charged 9,6 V 1600 MAH battery and it shows 3/4 battery. So I think 3s lipo will show full battery? On a fully charged 8,4 V NIMH it didn't even go on.

So long ago i changed to using 2s battery, i can't really remember what i had to do, but i believe i changed a couple of lines in tx.ini file in order to work.

Forgive me if i am mistaken, try these values for a 2s Lipo battery and see if it works. (Use notepad++ for opening the .ini file, the windows notepad corrupts the file)

What are you talking about?

He is talking about changing the low voltage alarm to match the voltages present on a 2S lipo. By default the system is set for 9.6v and so if you use a 2S you will constantly be getting a low voltage alarm. Personally I use a 3S LiFE which lasts for ages.

So you can change it? Where exactly in the settings?

People might disagree with me but I have several devo 10 and run them all on turnigy 3 cell 2.2 and 2.65. Two are pretty old.And all but 1 have 4 in 1 module,except 1 still use devention for qr x350 pro. But I quess use them at your on risk.

I have several Devo10's and have the gain set to the highest. I've never had an issue using 3s 2200mh lipo batteries. Always fully charged before I leave for the day. I wonder morenabout the receivers. I currently use 4 or 5 cell nimh. I'd like to switch to LiFe but wonder if I should use a bec set to 6 volts
