Hello Everyone,

First time on the forum, Could you please advice if this is a range issue?

Please see video

I'm flying my quad in my RC club field, probably about 30 meter away from me, and suddenly lost control of the craft (once it's lose it's balance and it goes full throttle itself), not responding to any throttle or any stick movement.

I have flown further than this last week and I don't have any issues.

Battery have 3 bar strip on it

Transmitter - Devo 7e
Receiver - RX601

People in the club think its because I pointed my antenna straight to the quad, which is my bad habbit

I can do the soldering by pass on the transmitter but

I'm not really a wiz with computer, is there a link where it guide me step by step to upgrade the firmware?

Thank you so much

It has about 7mW power then, so antenna direction and rx placement are indeed important factors...

Just done range mod and Deviation firmware update on Devo 7e.

now it's not binding with my super cp or RX601,

is that mean my transmitter is a gonner?

Did they worked with deviation before the mod, or did you change both at once?

Don't forget to clear the fixed id value on the model setup page to allow auto binding with the DEVO protocol.

Also don't forget to enable the power amp in the tx.ini file...

Hello FDR.

Sorry, I didnt test the firmware before i did the range mod.

All good.

I manage to bind it. I clear the fixed id number and it worked with rx-601.

My next question. I set the power to 150mW. Is there away to check if my range mod successful. Without sacrificing the bird?

Or i just need to put the bird on the far end of the field and test to see if this will bind?

Use some reduced power setting, say 1mW.
Set a fail safe value on a channel to see when it looses link.
Put the tx on a chair or ground and walk away with the model until it looses the link.
Calculate the range for larger power...

FDR,

Thank you for the advice.

I'll try it when I got home.

say. 1mW got me 3 meter, so is that mean. is I set it to 150mW x 3 Meter? that equates 450 meter?

Thank you
