Control rudder with both AIL and RUD stick was created by gordonzo
I have a few 3ch DSM2 airplanes config'd and they work great. The AIL stick is used to control RUD by default.
My question: Can you have both AIL & RUD sticks actively controlling RUD at the same time? If I set the AIL to source RUD the controls move over to the RUD stick. But I can't get both active at the same time. Is it possible? Thanks.

I believe so. Three channel has throttle, ele and rudder. Ail is not used, so go into complex mixer and turn ail from whatever it is to "none". Then go into Rudd complex mixer and make 2 pages, first page: switch=none. Src=rud. MUX=replace. Second page: switch=none. Src=ail. MUX=add. You can do whatever you want for expo etc, even having different expo for both sticks.
Hope this helps.

P.s. I tried it on my 8s and it works with channel monitor.

Excellent. Thanks!
The AIL channel seems to be connected to the rudder on this setup. I had to set the RUD to none and put the complex mixes on the AIL channel. Works great.

I thought about such a solution but discarded it due to the following:
You have a max value of +/-200% instead of +/-100%. So you will have to use either AIL or RUD. If you use both, the values are added and if you move in opposite directions they will eliminate each other - so you have to be careful.
But I think this is the way you want to use it: only one at a time.

Never thought of that. I went back into Rudd. ( source ) and set max/min values to +100 and -100 and now it's good according to channel monitor ( both sticks down or up only go to 100)
I think that might do it.

And any single stick will also go to 100.

Ps. And I meant left to right of course!!

Better yet, how about using a switch (elev or gear) to switch sticks?
A lot safer. It would be very difficult to not bump either throttle or elev sideways a bit as you are flying. (Me anyways)

...but you will reach 100% with the half stick movement if you move both.

Yes, but imagine the hand eye coordination you would have after using BOTH sticks at once!!
Lol.

I am used to use both sticks (flying helis) so I can hardly imagine not to use one of them (at least accidentally).
When I started thinking about such a configuration I thought about using the deadband function like this: AIL around 0: use RUD; RUD aorund 0: use AIL; both not around 0: use sum of AIL and RUD. I still think it is possible, but there seems not to be any need for such a complex solution for a simple wish...

With my AIL channel set max 100 and min -100 the AIL and RUD sticks add to a max of 100 so it should be fine. The servos do not appear to be over-ranged, either.
Flying my Mini Vapor in my living room seems to be much easier because my natural tendency is to use both sticks, such as with my helis and quads.
I currently have 2 models config'd, one with just AIL control and one with dual controls. I like the idea of using a switch to turn dual controls on/off and I plan to do that.
