Updated Module Installation instructions was created by PhracturedBlue
I'm updating the module installation instructions to add documentation for the 'Universal Module'. I've moved the Module Installation instructions to the Wiki rather than keeping it as a PDF. The Wiki seems better oriented for this task, and allows me to use higher resolution images and links to better organize the information. I am not done yet, but I have incorporated all of the information that was in the original PDF I believe.

The new page can be found here:
bitbucket.org/PhracturedBlue/deviation/wiki/ModuleInstallation

I've followed Daryoon's lead and color-coded all connections, and have added higher resolution images of all the modules I have access to.

I'd appreciate any feedback on it before I proceed much further.

Hi PB,

I am a little bit confused with pinout described in this WiKi. I don't have (yet) the universal module, just the A7105-500 and a nRF24L01+PA+LNA. For example, you wrote "*4.0.1 and earlier: Connect 8->GND and 9->3.3V. Leave 6 and 7 floating". But I have this pinout and using the last NB.... and it's working perfectly. Do you mean that I have update wiring in my installation ?

The nightly builds work fine with the 'old' wiring system. However, if you use the new wiring diagram (6->9, 7->8) or if you use the universal module (which does this for you) Deviation will be able to shutdown the A7105 PA. I didn't check it as yet, but that should reduce power consumption when not in use. It also allows turning on the LNA, but I don't thin we have any protocols using telemetry with A7105.

I'm a little confused...
The color code in the .../wiki/ModuleList does not match the color code in the picture .../wiki/Devo7eModuleInstall

MISO is blue, MOSI is gray on the picture and vice versa in the moduleList...

Which is right ?

Thanks. The text label on the Devo7e was wrong (the colors were correct). I've fixed the image to be consistent now.

Ok, is the wireing noted someware? I have rxen wired to vdd atm. works fine with long hubsan telemetry range. But i will change it asap if its undefined.

EDIT: found it

EDIT2:

there are some mistakes in Modulelist WIKI page. For the skyartec module it says: "*4.0.1 and earlier: Connect 11->3.3v and 12->GND. Leave 7 and 8 floating" but the module only has 10 pins. same thing for XL2500. I dont know what its suposed to be

Also i find the colors very confusing i cant figure out what rx_en schould be connected to on the XL7105

I moved your reply to the proper thread.

I've fixed the items you listed.

The 'Notes' field describes the connections in addition to the standard 6 pins to the Tx.

Generally, the colors are:
connect 'Orange' pins together
connect 'Dark Grey' pins together
leave 'clear' pins alone.
But the notes in the table should clarify the connections

Hubsan X4 protocol has telemetry since 4.0.1, should I modify the code for the new wiring ?

OK thanks, my Devo 10 (with XL7105-D03) is an energy hog, I hope it will be better with the new wiring :)
