Devo 7e/Xtreme Mixer question was created by Ssayer
Hey! Being new to Deviation and to the Devo 7e, I have a question which (I believe) is about the Mixer settings. Can I have a different Scale- and Scale+ dependent on the Hold position switch. What I would like to have is:

Hold 1 -> Scale- = 100 , Scale+ = 100
Hold 2 -> Scale- = 70 , Scale- = 70

Is that possible? Am I missing an easy set up because of my unfamiliarity with Deviation?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The Scale+ and Scale- values of the channel config page are for the servo travel adjust, you don't need to touch them, but you should use the mixers for that.
Change the mixer type to Expo&DR, select function 1-to-1, set the switch of the second graph to HOLD1 (aren't there HOLD 0 and HOLD1?), and set the second scale value to 70...

Thank you for the reply. That tells me how new I am to this part of it. I'm re-reading this and re-reading it to try to wrap my head around it. Yes, there are Hold0 and Hold1 with Hold0 set up as beginner mode and Hold1 set up as sport mode on the Xtreme. :P

I'll print out your instructions and try it with everything in front of me, and then test it out on my Xtreme (What I'm trying to do is to get full power in beginner mode (Scale- = 100 , Scale+ = 100) but not have it flip on me in sport mode until I get further out on the stick as right now it flips on me at about half stick if I don't have the settings like I show (Scale- = 70 , Scale- = 70). If that makes any sense to you?).

Thanks again!

Of course. The model I'm including is for Xtreme in Beginner or Sport (Hold switch) with Altitude hold on or off (FMod switch). I've set Ailerons and Elevator on Beginner @ 100 and on Sport to 50 for now. It seems like a good place to share based on what I've read from too many people's experiences crashing the poor quad thus far in Sport mode. Once I/they get a number of flights in on this particular model, I/they can slowly bump the 50 up.

With the two position switch setup, I'm thinking I'll program four models on my Devo 7e (depending on the values for the two switches) (-100/0 or 0/+100). Sound about right to you?:

ExtSptAlt == Beginner/Sport - Altitude hold on/off in Sport mode
ExtSptAcro == Beginner/Sport - Acro on/off in Sport mode
ExtExpAlt == Sport/Expert - Altitude hold on/off in Sport mode
ExtExpAcro == Sport/Expert - Acro on/off in Sport mode

If you see anything that should be changed/improved upon, please send it my way! :)

Thanks Ssayer, We should technically be able to have all modes using the virtual channels to emulate the extra switches.

This is where my lack of familiarity with Deviation shows. I'll keep plugging and see if I get everything going or if you get your Xtreme first and get it going. ;)

Updated my post that includes my model.ini as the wind died down so I tested that Altitude Hold works.

I was going to dig into the Virtual Switch stuff, but then I got to thinking...
1. How many people are going to use Beginner and Expert in the same flight, or even at all once they get accustomed to the Xtreme (or they get enough total flight hours and get accustomed to the Xtreme)? I doubt any, so that makes a three position Hold switch unnecessary.
2. How many people are going to fly Acro and Altitude Hold in the same flight? Altitude Hold is... gimicky at best and even then really only good for taking scenery videos/pics (which is what I plan on trying it for). Acro is for fun flying once you have a clue and are really established in flying fundamentals (or unless you have really deep pockets).
So... I'll just stick with my 4 model setup and not have to worry which position on the switch gets me what when I'm out there flying. :P

I somewhat agree. Sport and Expert are really all we need. Altitude hold is very important, especially if you're flying FPV (which I do a lot). It's good for AP\Video as well.

You can't engage altitude hold in any mode but Sport.

Really though, if we can get all modes that the stock TX can do, it makes for the most versatility as some pilots will want the features you and I personally don't consider important.

Isn't this just one of the many reasons a person buys a programmable transmitter? ;)

Help! Can't find out which model you are talking about? Suppose a quad, but can't find any hints to it ?!?

It's the RCLogger Xtreme. You can find it a number of places. Here's one:

Thx! Just googled a little. Sounds very interesting. Conrad has it in its catalogue in Germany (where I live). At the moment I'm looking for a quad for aerial filming with a mobius cam. I didn't find any information on "payload". Will it cary 70 - 100 grams? Do you need the "OneLink" module for binding with the Devo?

It very easily carries a Mobius. Never checked it out using the Onelink... With the Devo, I use the LemonRX DSM2 receiver.
