as noted in following video, the quad started to fly out at 1:00 and reached 1Km at 2:27. After turning the quad around for return trip, the Rx antenna was oriented at the back side of the quad causing intermittent singal lose.




not happy at the current setup and so go ahead to add on a 2.4g power amplifier.

ps. you can also get an idea how far 1km looks like. Usual model plane flying is nothing more than 200m. Less than 100m for helis.

I have installed this 2W wifi amplifier (XQ-02A) in my 7e. It is tiny and best of all, can operate from 5V down to 3.3V. So I can use my 7e's battery (1S) to feed power to it without any mod.

I have compared the output with and without the amplifier with my spectrum analyser and found that it can boost the power by about 8 to 10dB.

while ground check gives promising results by reducing 7e's output to 3mW, I have yet to find a time to perform another long range test to confirm its performance.

Oop... I got it at USD10 from China shops..

If one day, the single universal board is available, this tiny booster should be very interesting.
