Just want to share what I learned, for all those newbies out there.
This was my first foray into the wonderful world of deviation. Yesterday I had just acquired my new shiny 7e and I immediately flashed it to deviation 4. Loaded some ini's for my nano cpx and my mcpx. Took me some time to learn how to bind them properly as the birds can be bound two different ways. To bind a computer TX you push the rudder full right when binding. (for non computer 4 channel TX you push full left).
After binding, the birds were completely un-flyable. The tail was acting erratically, the swashplate was jumping all over the place and the throttle sometimes wouldn't even work.
Frustrated, I began digging through all the menus. I found a menu item to show stick position and channel position. That was when I noticed the sticks were not calibrated properly! I ran the calibration program via the menu and voila! Everything was working!!

so, in summary for all newbies out there, CALIBRATE your new transmitter first!
