I have a Devo 10 running deviation, and am flying a hexacopter for aerial photos using a regular small camera.
I would like to set it up so a servo presses the shutter button half way to focus, just like in real life, then move fully to take the photo.
I want to use the Fmode 3 position switch to do this. Im in the complex mixer, and now am stuck. Amybody help me please?

Thanks

1. choose a switch (FMODE for example)
2. find scale=? at which you can focus (fmode1)
3. find scale=? at which you can trigger (fmode2)

Can't help with the exact scale, you need to experiment yourself.

Devo 10 + 4in1
Spektrum Dx9
FrSky Taranis + TBS Crossfire

still totally lost im afraid. I don't have a clue how to do it at all.
1.go into "mixer"
2.go to channel 8. At the moment it says "simple"

Whats next? tried a few things, but can only get 2 positions on the graph when the switch is operated.

Go to the channel you want.
Change simple to complex.
Set mixers to 3
Src to FMODE0
Curve to Fixed
Scale to ?

Then go to page 2
Switch to FMODE1
Src to FMODE1
Curve to Fixed
Scale to ??

Then go to page 3
Switch to FMODE2
Src to FMODE2
Curve to Fixed
Scale to ???

Save.

? ?? and ??? are numbers between -100 to 100. You have to find out yourself. They determen the position of your servo for the 3 positions of the switch.

Good luck

I tried this briefly before work, and im sure the src changed back to "none" when I changed the curve to "fixed". I didnt get a chance to plug in an rx and try it out for real though.

Thanks, hope it works.
The camera seems to work a lot better when you let it actually focus first on the subject.

If the curve type is "fixed", the source will always be "none", since it's ignored. You don't need to change the source here.

Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.

My remotely piloted vehicle ("drone") is a yacht.

YES!! Delighted its now working great, thanks loads guys. Now I just have to wait for the lovely Scottish weather to calm down a wee bit so I can fly. We currently have the remains of Hurricane Bertha stuck overhead and its going nowhere soon.
Cheers all,
Barry
