Hello,

is there already a possibility to use deviation on the 12E? (the white model)

Thank you in advance

Hello,

that would interest me too.
I'm about to buy a Devo. Either 10 or 12E.

Runs Deviation on a 12E?

Well I dont think anyone knows, without trying. It very mutch depends on how different the devo 12e is from the devo 10. If they just connected new switches to unused pins on the mcu Then deviation for devo 10 would work, just without the extra switches. If they rearanged the pins or chaned the mcu in any way deviation would not work without modifications/

In any case supporting the devo 12e is likely possible with minnimal effort.

Anyone successfully try this yet? Getting ready to pickup a new radio and the Devo 12E with Deviation would be ideal.

Hello,

is there any chance to get deviation for the 12E? I would love to buy one, but it needs to have deviation. Otherwise I would get a 10.

Is this project still alive?

Oswald,
please open the transmitter and share some internal pictures. Most interesting would be how the pots are connected to the boards.

Here are the pictures of my DEVO 12E. I hope it will help someone to make firmware for it. :cheer:

Is there any significant difference to Devo 10 at all?

The most obvious are the two extra pots

Yes, it's obvious, LOL

But besides?

I'm thinking of it from the point of view of deviation portability. They are almost the same, as it seems.

Both PCB (Devo 10 and Devo 12E) have very similar layout. Added AUX7 and AUX5 connectors and renamed AUX1 to AUX4 and AUX2 to AUX6 connectors. I think will be enought to trace connections for AUX4 - AUX7 to MCU pins (probably center contact only - center output of pot).

Oh cool, there's people talking here. I was going to make a post quickly but decided to do a search first.
I'm thinking about ordering in a DEVO 12E to run deviation on it and a while ago (didn't have funds at the time) I looked into making the appropriate modifications to the source. Because it's so similar to the DEVO 10, I think that just adding the extra knobs to some target files copied from the DEVO 10 and changing the target name and whatnot was pretty much all I needed to do to get what I felt should work.
Walkera Fans has a copy of the firmware and the crypt for dfu.py appears to be 12, as was to be expected.
If anyone absolutely needs a build, I can try running one off, but it would be untested and it's probably better to let the more skilled people figure it out.

I compared the devo12e images to the devo10 images.
It looks like PA0 and PD9 have new connections, and I don't see any other pin changes on the STM32.
PA0 is ADC0, but PD9 is a purely digital pin. So it is possible they swapped some pins around to get usable ADC pins.

That makes sense. I did have a look at the pin assignments originally, but I don't do very much electronics work. It was a bit hard to make sense of it all, but I kinda figured that PD9 was effectively doing nothing we can actually see because of a missing jumper, although PA0 is definitely of interest. Is it possible for the to be something hidden underneath the chip?
Anyway, I guess that actual hardware is the only way forwards, huh?

You may be right about PD.9
I think the 2nd analog pin is PB.0.

I will throw together a 12E build. If someone has one to try it, we can see if that is all that is needed

I built a test-build for the devo12e here:
www.deviationtx.com/downloads-new/category/32-test-builds

Once someone tests it, I'll add it to the nightly-build scripts
