If you're not familiar with
Flyin' Ryan's reviews
, start by checking them out. He reviews lots (and lots) of small 'copters - from cheap one-channel toys up to 200 size hobby grade heli's and quads (and possibly others that I haven't seen), and his reviews are well-regarded.
He has more than once expressed a wish that he had a deviationTx transmitter for all this stuff. I've wished he had one as well, and think it would be a great way to get deviation more exposure. But he dislikes hacking electronics at least as much as I do, if not more.
So, I'd like to see if I can motivate the community to get him one. There are four major parts to this:
1) Getting the radio proper. A bit of a stretch for me, especially if I need to buy other stuff as well.
2) Parts to mod it. I can donate the small bits and the nrf24L01 (though I'm waiting on it). No problem buying the rest of this, though I'd prefer if someone else donated the UM PCB, as they sell them in sets of three.
3) Building the UM. I can do that, but as noted, I don't like doing such, and someone who does would probably do a better job.
4) Installing the UM & other mods if the Tx is a devo 7e. Way outside my comfort zone. This is really what stops me from doing this myself.
So, can I get others to help out with this? Getting and modding the Tx are the two parts I really can't handle, but any other parts someone can donate would be appreciated.
For the Tx, if someone who has a connection inside one of the vendors (banggood, tmart, etc.) can get them to donate one, that would be great. If all else fails, I can ask FR if he'd buy one after everything else is lined up.
Please note anything you're willing to contribute here.

I've got one more multimod PCB laying around, and I'd be happy to assemble it and install it.

I have just given my 'spare' Devo 10 to Benedikt at MicroMotorWarehouse. Because he still uses a 9XR..
Great idea to get more Deviation exposure. SeByDocky reviews and vids often has him flying with his Devo. I adore my Deviated 10

I also watch SebyDocky - after Ryan recommended I do so. I think SebyDocky does great things for the community, and expect FR would do similarly.
Maybe we need a place to keep track of hardware people would be willing to donate to such people?
