Choose different virt mixes with trim buttons?

I know the trim buttons can be configured as temp or toggle (0/1 only?). I wonder, can i set it to several levels? For example, if i have -100,0,100 mixes. Can i used the trim buttons to go up/down between them? Is that possible?

Thanks!

See the last section in my model config tutorial . There's a bit in there about using a air of trim switches as faux analog inputs. You'll need to use both switches, but you can set the size of the step anywhere between 1 and 100.

Thanks mwm. I must have read your guide over 10 times. What I didn't see is if theres a way to toggle trims up/down to mix 1/2/3 or virt/ 1/2/3 etc. Allowing you to go up or down a set of settings?

I think I'm confused about what you're trying to do, then. It sounds like you want the very last section in the doc, on setting up trim switches as a "3 position switch". As it notes, while you can have a single channel that moves between 100,0,-100 with the trim switches, you can't use that as a three-position switch - deviationTx switches just don't support that. Instead, you set up one virtual channel with the trim, and it's one switch. You can then setup up a two more virtual channels which use that to create two more switches if you need them.

Thanks mwm. I was trying to be creative and create custom trim toggles that moved between virtual channels but I now understand there isn't a way to do that (yet ;).

As having the 7e unfortunately I only have 2x2 so i was trying to be creative, though I am planning on doing the extra 2x3 mod. For now, I'm using the trim button for channel 5 and the 2x2 switches to control 3 modes.

FWIW, deviationTx will probably never support using oddball things as "3-position switches" like that. if anything, it's going in the opposite direction: used to be, you could use a 3-position switch as a source, and it would give you those -100/0/100 values. Now, you get three -100/100 sources out of it. And I'm trying to find time to clean up my toggle icons rewrite, which will remove the special handling that 3-way switches have now, and you would set them up more like a mix, with separate icons for each of the three switch positions being on.

I think long-term we'll have some kind of "flight mode" support, where the number of flight modes is set for each model, and then a set of switch configurations that choose the flight mode. You could name them, and then use a flight mode as a switch (i.e. - "Idle up" and "!Idle up" for heli's, etc). This wouldn't make things any more powerful, but it would be more convenient - you wouldn't have to remember which switches did what when writing configs, just use the flight modes. As a bonus, you could put the flight mode into a box on the main page, which means not having to come up with icons for the new flight modes the flight control firmware guys keep inventing.

I think a flight mode addition would be awesome and honestly a must since we manually have to do it for each model anyway.
