Protocols missing! was created by goodwrench
Hi. I downloaded Deviation 4.0.1 and installed on my Devo 7E. I have the list showing what protocol to select for which model. I am trying to set up my Syma X5 , but the SymaX protocol is not there! Any ideas? I set up my V222 and Tarantula with no issues and they fly awesome...so I know the module is working. Please help.

That was my issue. I didn't have the latest nightly build installed. Got it working now. I just need to figure out how to set up the leds to turn off and on...how to set up the flip. I'm new to this. Can you point me in a direction that I can get some help in setting these up?

You could try a model file from one that's already setup. Which Syma are you flying, X5C, X11?
Here's a couple from a quick search, model icon & ini files:
SYMA X5C and X11 Model Icons from Durete:

Syma X5C - 1 for Devo 7e model file from eikaf:

Well...I'd like to know how to set up the 7E to turn the LEDs off and on and to initiate the flip function on the following:
- cx-10
-cx-10A
-syma x5c
-tarantula x6
-wltoys v222
-jjrc h8c
I'd need to know what channels control these and how to set them up in the 7E.
Appreciate all the help!!

Channels used In Deviation are listed in the On-line user guide section for each protocol. In general, most NRF24L01 family protocols -- small quads and such -- use channels 1-4 for AETR, then channel 5 for LEDs, channel 6 for flips, channel 7 for photos, channel 8 for video, if those channels are actually available (not always). Higher channels 9 can be headless mode, and after that sometimes you'll see calibration or RTH... It's in the User guide!
Channel 5 can be fun on some quads... It turns the LEDs on and off, but sometime you can vary the channel value, say, 0, and get flashing LEDs, -50 slow flashing, 99 very fast flashing! Or put channel 6 on a momentary switch to get flipping crazy.
Try it! Of course take the rotors off to test, ok?

Read this entire thread then read the tutorial he references (mwm's excellent ini tutorial). Great examples and great info.

I just realized that I didn't include the thread I meant to use!
I'm sorry --- my note probably seemed kinda rude without it!

Check your hardware.ini file for corruption. Mine got wiped out a couple of times recently and caused these type issues.
