trying load model

hi deviators - so I know this is gonna sound like stupid question but bare with me
ok so I find an ini file I want- click on it hit save then it prompts me change name
I change to model 1 ini - then when I go into the USB drive for devo it says model 1 then under it says model ini - but the model 1 still has the default settings
under it the model ini has the file I want
but then what - when I turn the devo on nothing is loaded - I'm using windows ten if that helps I'm so confused
I'm not that great with computers obviously - any thoughts thanks guys

It's spelled "model1.ini", with no spaces in it.
