Having a hard time getting my Devo 10 in USB mode.

I have tried a lot now. But my Devo10 will not show up as a Storage Device on any of my 3 computers

Tried 5 different USB cables (all being able to flash via DFU)
Tried with different stock firmware versions before flashing Deviation (DFU flashing no problem)

Are there any difference from DFU and USB mode, datawise?

The USB mode sometimes show up on my PC and I actually had succes formatting it to FAT 4096KB a couple of times, but when tranfering files it suddenly stops and will never get a connection again.

Sometimes it just says something about USB device not recognized

any hints ?

DFU mode and USB mode are completely different. Is DFU mode reliable on all of your machines? It seems odd that you can program in DFU mode and yet not be able to transfer files in USB mode. If you could do neither, than I'd think it may be a loose connection on the board, but if DFU works and USB does not, I'm not sure what to make of it.

I got absolutely no problem flashing the DFU files, stock(+ LIB file) and deviation. But USB mode is very unstable. Faulty STM32 chip?

Is this screen normal?

A bit worried about the picture quality or is it just a Contrast thing?

On my Devo 10, which works perfectly, it looks like this.

mickkn, there is nothing wrong with your screen. It is possible that the core frequency is off a little causing USB errors. it is hard for me to guess. I wouldn't even know how to attempt to debug that. There is, however, another option for you. The deviationUploader java utility can upload the filesystem to your Tx directly from DFU mode. it is much slower, but it should bypass the usb mount issue I think.

That would solve the problem partly :)

Is there a guide somewhere?

EDIT: Think the deviation uploader tool fixed my issue. The USB is working for now :-) the tool only worked from my Mac though. Maybe something with java on my win machines. Thanks

Note that you still need it, but if someone else is looking for a guide to the deviation uploader, the online manuals (links on the left) installation chapter partially cover using the dfu uploader. They're targetted at the F series controllers, which require it, but the same instructions should largely apply.

Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.
