Range Test was created by 92zb
I am struggling to find out in what condition a Range Test in 7e is possible / not possible. It is so important for me and as I am new to this 2.4Hz system and the season of flying has just started. I have few cheap RX from Orange to a cheap £3.50 from BG. I searched every where could not find the answer. Thanks for your help.

if you have done the range mod (or are using a module with a PA) then lower the power output to 100µW, that's sufficiently low for range tests

Not that this applies to me, just curious [and it's on subject]...
With a stock (non-range modded) 7E does range check mode do anything?

tbh I'm not sure, I can't remember if the power adjustment is only possible once you enable the relevant 'has-pa' line in hardware.ini

I just changed "has_pa-cyrf6936 = 0" to "1" is it ok. Now the Range Test option is avaiable.

I find that our rangetest or 100uW setting is not good for Range test, at least for the CC2500, we still output much to high power......
I use a diode RF detector for field strength and it still give significant signal, when using stock Frsky DHT-U in rangecheck mode my detector does not anymore indicate any RF.
This matches my field result, DEVO 7e Frsky in Rangecheck mode, I have to run far far and still keep the signal stay solid.......
I think wer have to disable fully the PA, to do rangecheck. However that than only check the RX antenna......

Better try google search keywords - forum search and result list (posting instead of thread title) does not work that well: site:deviationtx.com dsmx range / 100uw 300uw 1mw / devo7e DSM range
www.google.de/search?q=site:deviationtx....s.heiss+1mw&start=10
Will give you tons of threads on topic...
Deviation output power 100mw = 100mw (test by vlad): www.deviationtx.com/forum/3-feedback-que...ut-power-150mw-100mw
DSMx genuine Spektrum receiver range tests 100uw/300uw/1mw: www.deviationtx.com/forum/protocol-devel...port?start=400#45377
