Devo 10 3 in 1 module issues was created by Podflyer
A big thank you for all the help I've had to get this far. So I still can't get my moded devo 10 working I have installed this module www.banggood.com/CC2500-NRF24L01-A7105-M...itter-p-1046304.html
I followed the installation guide from there. I have a installed deviation 5.0 and edited my hardware.ini file with notepad++ my file looks like this:
enable-cyrf6936 = B12
has_pa-cyrf6936 = 1
enable-a7105 = A13
has_pa-a7105 = 1
enable-cc2500 = A14
has_pa-cc2500 = 1
enable-nrf24l01 = B7
has_pa-nrf24l01 = 1

the Tx starts up fine with no missing module errors. When I try to bind a model I just get a re-init option no bind option and no choice options such as selecting x600 for the mjx protocols. I feel like I'm almost there but can't work out what I've done wrong. I think my module installation was good and I inspected every soldered joint with a magnifying glass. More help please guys!

Some models show Re-Init and not Bind, I think thats just a naming thing.

I just tried mine and when I pressed enter on MJXq I get a "pop up" that gives you Format options with four choices (X600 being one of them).

When you scroll through the different protocols do any of them have a * before the name?

I am not sure about this but do you need to enable cyrf6936?
; there is no need to enable the cyrf6936 module unless
; it is wired to an alternate port. It is Enabled automatically otherwise
; enable-cyrf6936 = B12

Yep I get a * in front of the mix protocols but no way to choose which version. On my devo 7e I would press ent then choose which model I wanted. This doesn't seem to happen with my devo 10 at the moment.

A * in front of a protocol means it is not supported (Or configured correctly I guess). With the 4-in-1 I have I don't have a * in front of any protocol, I am not sure what the 3-in-1 supports.

Have you tried your settings in the EMU to see if everything is configured ok?

There is an Emulator version of each Deviation release that allows you to run the software on a Windows PC which comes in very handy when testing etc.

if there are asterix '*' in front of protocols then your hardware.ini changes are not done properly

you need to comment out the first cyrf line, that doesn't need changed with the 3in1 (or 4in1 to be fair) and make sure to use something like notepad++ if on windows to edit the file, as windows notepad doesn't work propely. also keep in mind 5.0 uses hardware.ini and not tx.ini to store these changes
;enable-cyrf6936 = B12
has_pa-cyrf6936 = 1
enable-a7105 = A13
has_pa-a7105 = 1
enable-cc2500 = A14
has_pa-cc2500 = 1
enable-nrf24l01 = B7
has_pa-nrf24l01 = 1

dan I wish lol

So my file is as below which has been edited and saved in notepad++ all solder joints have been checked and continuity testing done over all wires. still getting a * in front of the different protocols. Could it be a faulty module?

;enable-cyrf6936 = B12
has_pa-cyrf6936 = 1
enable-a7105 = A13
has_pa-a7105 = 1
enable-cc2500 = A14
has_pa-cc2500 = 1
enable-nrf24101 = B7
has_pa-nrf24101 = 1

It's possible it is faulty I guess.

Do you have the [module] line in the file also and is the file in the root folder of the Devo 10?

Perhaps this is the minimum you need in Hardware.ini for it to work.
extra-buttons=trim-all
[modules]
has_pa-cyrf6936 = 1
enable-a7105 = A13
has_pa-a7105 = 1
enable-cc2500 = A14
has_pa-cc2500 = 1
enable-nrf24l01 = B7
has_pa-nrf24l01 = 1

Did you test your configuration in the Emulator yet? If not, zip up your entire Devo 10 folder structure and send me a link to it, I will try it in the Emulator.

I just use WordPad in Windows and it works fine. As I mentioned before, did you try using your configuration in the Emulator yet? If you get the * before the protocol name then it must be a config issue, if not then could be a hardware problem.

If you can zip up your entire Devo 10 drive (When connected to the PC in USB mode) as it is now I don't mind testing it at all here.

Also, what version of Deviation 5 are you running, the standard release or a nightly build?

I just took a look at your included Hardware.ini and you have two modules using A13 and two using A14 (See below) also you have the multimod enabled which you don't have, right?
has_pa-cyrf6936 = 1
enable-a7105 = A13
has_pa-a7105 = 1
enable-cc2500 = A14
has_pa-cc2500 = 1
enable-nrf24l01 = A14
has_pa-nrf24l01 = 1
enable-multimod = A13
